The Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series is one of the most popular shonen titles at the moment. The sequel series didn’t really have the best start. However, this installation of the manga has instilled faith in its fans since the overall story progression and character writing have gotten better. There are several new characters that have been introduced in the latest manga series. One such character is Shibai Otsutsuki.
The Otsutsuki Clan has produced some of the most powerful beings that we have seen right from the Naruto series. There are very few characters who can match their ninjutsu prowess. The protagonist himself has become a full-fledged Otsutsuki. However, there is one Otsutsuki member who was introduced much later in the sequel series — Shibai Otsutsuki. Fans want to know what his role would be in the manga series. Signs indicate that he would go on to become the main antagonist in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
This entity in the Two Blue Vortex series is still shrouded in mystery. There isn’t a lot that we know about him. One can compare him to the likes of God in One Punch Man. Both these characters were introduced as divine entities with powers beyond one’s imagination. Furthermore, Shibai Otsutsuki hasn’t played an active role in the manga series. However, fragments of his body were used by Amado Sanzu to create the cyborgs with Shinju abilities.
However, fans are concerned about his role in the Boruto series. He was introduced as the Otsutsuki God, who is capable of quite literally creating miracles. His Divine Techniques allow him to shape the world, see through various timelines, and reflect any attack or harm one intends to inflict on him. With such abilities, it will be nearly impossible for anyone to take him on. However, if Shonen titles have shown us anything, it is that ridiculously powerful characters end up becoming the main antagonist.
The likes of Yhwach became the main antagonist in Bleach, and there wasn’t a single person who could defeat him on paper. Similarly, we have reason to believe that Shibai Otsutsuki will become the main antagonist towards the end of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series. However, the protagonist in his current state cannot beat someone like Shibai even with all the help that he can get from Konohagakure. Shibai can reflect attacks, go back in time, inspect events, and even materialize his greatest desires.
Can Shibai Otsutsuki be defeated in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?
Anyone can be defeated, and Shibai Otsutsuki is no exception. Since there is very little that we know about the character, it is quite difficult to understand how anyone can defeat him. The scarce information available to us dictates that he is a literal God and therefore, will have little to no weaknesses. However, most Shonen titles often provide their protagonists with a massive power-up that allows them to take on the final antagonist.
Another route that writers often take is producing a miracle of their own. Kaguya Otsutsuki was defeated by Naruto’s Reverse Harem Jutsu, which provided Team 7 with the opening to seal her. Similarly, Boruto could take down Shibai with others’ help with a simplistic tactic that no one would see coming.
In summation, Shibai Otsutsuki is a divine entity who will most likely take on the role of an antagonist. However, only time will tell whether or not he will assume this role. That being said, most Shonen titles have a pattern, and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex seems to be following it. These signs point toward him becoming the final villain whose death could bring the entire country peace and harmony.
