Jujutsu Kaisen has new characters that surprise viewers because they are different from traditional ideas about sorcerers; particularly, there is one character that really stands out visually due to his consuming star-shaped pupils and constellation-inspired powers.

Kirara Hoshi is a third-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High who currently operates alongside Kinji Hakari at the Gachinko Fight Club. Her appearance is unique: she has star-shaped pupils and has a unique curse technique referred to as "Love Rendezvous." Kirara serves as a loyal companion and protector to Hakari.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, Kirara is a slim, feminine figure. She has long hair, most of which is dark, except for a part of their bangs. Kirara has star-shaped pupils in her eyes, which fits into the whole constellation theme of their abilities.

Additionally, Kirara wears a lot of jewelry around their mouth and has markings under their eyes that look like tally marks. To finish off Kirara’s look, they wear a spiky collar.

Kirara’s personality is really devoted to Hakari, whom Kirara refers to as "Kin." Kirara is passionate about the idea of "fever" as it relates to how people are addicted to something or someone. Kirara tries to be near Hakari all the time and will be protective of Hakari if other people are trying to distract him.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, Kirara has the power to tell when someone has that burning desire that drives them. They identify this in people and equate it to what helps Hakari make decisions. When Yuji exhibited this quality while fighting, Kirara recognized it and used it to make Hakari help him.

Kirara's happy-go-lucky temperament matches Hakari's emotions. Kirara echoes that vitality when Hakari is excited and passionate. The connection between them shows how strong their bond is and how similar their views on life have become.

Love Rendezvous in Jujutsu Kaisen

Kirara's cursed technique, Love Rendezvous, is based on very complex astronomical principles. It gives Kirara the ability to take five "stars" from the Southern Cross constellation and assign them to represent cursed energy.

As for the targets marked with the five stars, they must come together in order according to the actual distance each star is from Earth: Imai, Acrux, Mimosa, Ginan, and Gacrux.

If an individual makes a move toward a marked target out of the designated order, the technique creates an attraction effect that causes the targeted marked individuals to pull together. This will create a defensive barrier that will not be easy to penetrate unless the individual understands the rules that govern the technique.

Despite facing two opponents simultaneously in Jujutsu Kaisen, Kirara demonstrated impressive strategic thinking during their battle with Megumi and Panda. They had pre-charged various objects on the rooftop with cursed energy, allowing quick application of their technique to maintain distance from attackers. Then, when Megumi figured out how to read Love Rendezvous, she saw danger in the process of getting read.

Kirara trapped Panda with environmental objects while forcing Megumi to take a huge risk. Even when she knew some of the rules of the technique, she still managed to surprise Megumi when she used her own mark to deflect projectiles that were heading toward Panda.

Kirara, even though they don’t fight much, is very helpful to the plot. They help keep Hakari on task without constantly getting in the way. Kirara helped Ui Ui move injured friends out of danger during the Raid on Sukuna in Shinjuku, which shows that they want to help out when it really counts.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, another way that Kirara helps Hakari is by having the ability to see if someone seriously wants to do something. When trying to figure out if Megumi's team could be trusted, it was Kirara's eventual belief in how sincere Megumi's team was that created the trust.
