Will Kurama return to Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has made leaps and bounds from a plot progression standpoint, and fans thoroughly enjoy it. However, the anime-only section of the fan fanbase hasn’t caught on to the manga. Those who have read the source material are privy to information that will shock anime fans. The entire community suffered the loss of Kurama, whose passing was emotional, to say the least. However, there seems to be a glimmer of hope among the anime-only fans. The question they seem to be asking is this: Does Kurama come back in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?

Yes, Kurama returns to the Boruto series. However, it might not be in a way that fans imagine it. Kurama was a massive Nine-Tailed Beast made of pure chakra, and the same entity has returned. However, his appearance has changed quite a bit. He is no longer as big as he used to be, and the Jinchuriki has also changed. Himawari Uzumaki, the daughter of Naruto Uzumaki, has become the new Jinchuriki.

Kurama is now lending his powers to Himawari in the manga. It takes a while for the Jinchuriki to fully extract the powers of a Tailed Beast. However, we already saw Himawari utilize his chakra moments after learning that she is the new vessel. This goes to show just how quickly she was able to adapt and intuitively learn about Kurama.

Furthermore, the Tailed Beast also revealed a piece of information that shocked the entire Boruto: Two Blue Vortex fanbase. As per Kurama, Himawari has the highest affinity with him compared to any other past Jinchuriki. This means she can extract Kurama’s powers far better and far more efficiently compared to others.

Fans already got a glimpse of this during her brief skirmish against Jura. She also launched a Biju Bomb in his direction. While it was much smaller than what we have seen in the past, it is indicative of her potential in the manga series.

Himawari Uzumaki has Kurama on her side at the moment, and fans are excited to see her take on a bigger role in the story. She has been sidelined for quite some time now. Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto are setting her up for bigger things to come towards the business end of the manga.

Himawari and Kurama’s roles in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Fans took a while to come to terms with the fact that Kurama might never come back. However, the writers decided to bring him back for two possible reasons: to provide Himawari with a power-up towards the end of the story and to give the older fans of the Naruto series a reason to be excited. While Kurama himself might not play an important role in the story, he will aid Himawari during tough moments in the manga.

Himawari is all set to lead the next generation of shinobi and provide support to her brother, who is the protagonist of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Therefore, Himawari will play the role of a deuteragonist who finally has the opportunity to showcase her combat abilities. Jura currently poses a massive threat to Konohagakure. Fans can expect Himawari to enter the battlefield and assist Boruto during this fight.
