Weekly Shonen Jump has confirmed Witch Watch season 2, the next installment in the hit magical rom-com adaptation.

The first season debuted in April 2025 and introduced viewers to Nico Wakatsuki, a witch-in-training, and her ogre familiar, Morihito Otogi, creating a world of whimsical but tension-filled fantasy. Written by Kenta Shinohara, the manga series has enjoyed a loyal following due to its mixture of romance, humor, prophecy, and supernatural threats.

Now, Witch Watch season 2 has been announced to be in production. It was announced via the official X (Twitter) account of the WSJ manga and in a Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 45 statement.

Witch Watch was adapted as an anime based on chapters 1-43 or 45 of the original manga, although not all chapters were adapted in order. The anime premiered on April 6, 2025, and received a mass distribution, being available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and other platforms. The anime adapted a lot of arcs, such as the Dogs and Raindrops arc and the Summer Demon arc.

The manga is published in 23 volumes. After chapter 45, the narrative proceeds into arcs of escalation of prophecy, warlocks, and increased conflict in the magical world. Witch Watch season 2 is anticipated to adopt the arcs that were not covered in Season 1, and probably starting with Chapter 46 or further, perhaps the Autumn Storm arc, Ogre Masters, Phantom Blaze, and so on. Since there is so much material that can be provided, the production team has a lot of work to do.

The cast and staff members who will be returning will be expected to resume their roles. Season 1 featured voice-casts of Rina Kawaguchi as Nico and Ryo Suzuki as Morihito. In Season 1, the opening song was Watch Me! by Yoasobi, which attracted attention. Newer cast and production credits will be updated on the Witch Watch site and the social media pages.

Early animation, visual style, or teaser imagery may also be displayed in the announcement trailer (assuming it is released).

Witch Watch season 2 - What to Expect

The Witch Watch season 2 production is expected to continue with the same tone, quality of the animation, and pacing as the first season. Season 1 was produced and aired by TBS/MBS Nichi-5 and licensed by Crunchyroll and Netflix. The second season is set to increase the supernatural aspects of the story.

The fans will be able to look forward to further expansions of arcs that were only hinted at in Season 1, like Phantom Blaze, the Rondo of Cat and Wolf, and the Day of Disaster arc. These arcs contain revelations concerning the origin of Nico, oracles that endangered the magical equilibrium, and tests of the relationship between witch and familiar. The anime can present a change of order or abridging in chapters to pace the story.

Based on the news in Jump #45, the release dates would be realistic to have a Winter or Spring 2026 release, assuming the usual anime production schedules. Recurring creatives will probably enhance art style, gesture, and sound effects to uphold more melodramatic storylines. The teaser images can also give a clue as to what future warlock and antagonist designs will look like in the new arcs.

Although season 2 of Witch Watch has no release date, it is much anticipated. Having established production and a firm manga history, fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the next season to find out how Nico, Morihito, and their friends run through prophecies, threats, and relationship changes.

To conclude, Witch Watch Season 2 has already been confirmed through Weekly Shonen Jump issue 45. The anime adaptation has, up to now, adapted chapters covering 1-45. Season 2 will follow the following arcs of the manga, such as Autumn Storm, Phantom Blaze, and others. No release date has been announced, but the show is in production, and it remains to be seen how the story and the magical world are further developed in Witch Watch season 2.
