Former ATWT player Keith Douglas Pruitt has died

Actor and musician Keith Douglas Pruitt, who appeared in the early 1990s on As the World Turns, has died. Pruitt also appeared on Guiding Light and Loving, but he will forever be known for his classical music compositions. Pruitt was 47.

Actor and classical music composer Keith Douglas Pruitt has passed away at age 47. The actor, who was known for roles on As the World Turns and Guiding Light, passed away in his Greenwich Village apartment.

In daytime, Pruitt appeared as Frank Wendall on As the World Turns, Robinson on Guiding Light, and Flynn Reilly on Loving.

His classical compositions have been commissioned and performed by the Florida Philharmonic, the San Jose Symphony, and the New York City Ballet. Additionally, Pruitt founded the Keith Pruitt Piano Studio in New York several years ago.

In 1994, Pruitt and a companion were victims of a hate crime attack in New York City, and he was active in helping convict his attackers and send them to prison. Earlier this year, Pruitt was injured in a house fire earlier this year, which may have led to his death by choking.

Pruitt is survived by his mother, a sister and a brother.
