Netflix fans are in for a wild ride this month when the streaming service debuts Cowboy Bebop, a space Western based on the popular anime series of the same name. And soap opera fans will want to hop on, as well, because the series includes Tamara Tunie (ex-Jessica Griffin, As the World Turns).
Cowboy Bebop follows three bounty hunters, a.k.a. "cowboys," who are all trying to outrun the past as they chase down the galaxy's most dangerous criminals. But the three cowboys -- Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) -- can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.
Tunie will appear in the first episode of the space Western as Ana, who's connected to Spike and serves as his confidante as he explains how a bounty job gone bad forced him to change his name.
The first ten-episodes of Cowboy Bebop are set to be released on Netflix on Tuesday, November 19. Check out the teaser trailer below and let us know what you think in the Comments section at the end of the article.
Tunie played the role of ATWT's Jessica from 1987 to 1995 and again from 2000 to 2007. She also appeared on Days of our Lives as Judge Weston in 2011. Some of her other credits include 24, Blue Bloods, Almost Family, and Law and Order: SVU.
