Meredith Hagner has enjoyed a lot of success since leaving her role as Liberty Ciccone on As the World Turns, most of it in television series like Royal Pains and Search Party. Now she's set to grace the silver screen opposite wrestler-turned-movie actor John Cena and comic Lil Rel in the upcoming movie Vacation Friends.
The comedy film follows Hagner and Cena as a straight-laced couple that has fun with a rowdy couple on vacation in Mexico. When they return to the States, they discover that the zany pair they met south of the border has, gulp, followed them back home.
As reported by Deadline, Vacation Friends was a long time in the making; Fox acquired the spec script from cowriting brothers Tom Mullen and Tim Mullen in a near seven-figure deal back in 2014 with the initial plan being for then-married couple Chris Pratt and Anna Faris to star.
Hagner's first acing credit is that of ATWT's Liberty, which she played from 2006 to 2010. She went on to star in Lights Out and Men at Work, as well as Royal Pains and Search Party. She recently appeared in Ike Barenholtz's The Oath and the James Gunn-produced film Brightburn with Elizabeth Banks. She's also set to appear in Dummy, a serialized, movie-length project for Quibi.
