The Bold and the Beautiful's Theodora Greece is making international headlines for her engagement, and not because of her connection to daytime television. While B&B fans know her as the recurring character Alison Montgomery, the actress is actually a real life royal: her official title being Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark. And the world is thrilled to hear the princess is now engaged to American lawyer Matthew Kumar.
Princess Theodora, the daughter of Queen Anne-Marie of Greece and King Constantine II of Greece, took to her own Instagram account to confirm the exciting engagement news.
"Words can't express our happiness and excitement," she wrote. "I can't wait to marry this wonderful man. I love you Matt."
As explained in Vogue's article about her announcement, Princess Theodora is a member of the Greek royal family, which have not formally reigned since her father's 1974 exile, which marked the end of his official kingship. Despite this, the Greek royal family still receives titles for reasons pertaining to tradition.
Princess Theodora is not a working royal and is now known to American TV audiences as Theodora Greece, the stage name she took when she moved to Los Angeles to become an actress.
Neither Greece nor her family have yet to confirm a wedding date, but whenever the royal event does happen, it's bound to have quite an impressive guest list. Princess Theodora's sister-in-law is Marie Chantal, Crown Princess of Greece, while her godmother is Queen Elizabeth.
Greece made her B&B debut in 2011 and pops up every time Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) needs his assistant, Alison, to do his dirty work. Her other television credits include Sroloc and Broken Slinky Presents.
