On The Bold and the Beautiful, fans were shocked when Liam was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Maybe we’re in denial, but we really don’t believe Liam is going to die.

The clues to Liam’s fate on The Bold and the Beautiful

Not that we have ever wanted B&B's Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) to die at any point, but considering how urgent the situation was from the diagnosis, nothing much has happened. Sure, Liam’s had some fainting spells, but when doesn’t he? It seems there is a large portion of viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful who have accepted Liam's fate as doomed, but we haven't yet given up on possibilities that could change the course of this storyline.

Hope (Annika Noelle) wasn’t the only one to say this or possibly think it, but every viewer’s first go-to was to wonder why Finn (Tanner Novlan) or Bridget (Ashley Jones) couldn’t come up with a miracle cure like they did for Eric Forrester (John McCook) not that long ago. They still could — and then we could resurrect those speculations that they had chemistry and could wind up together.

Liam could take the treatment being offered, and voila, it’s a miracle the treatment is working better than they predicted, and he lives. Or, at the very least, it could extend things long enough until another option comes along to save him.

Bill-ionaire daddy Spencer (Don Diamont) could also (finally) be told about Liam’s condition and whisk him off to an undisclosed hospital that only soap writers know about, and they could work their magic with some trial method or rare herb therapy that can only be found in a remote desert oasis…but as luck would have it, they find it just in time for Liam.

Another possible fate for Liam

Or does all this waving around of the medicine bottle Liam holds mean something? Many viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful have found it strange that Dr. Buckingham is his physician. No, not because she was the leading heart surgeon in the country but now a neurological specialist. And no, not because the leading heart or brain surgeon would take on new general practitioner patients. And no, not because she refers to “durologists” for their opinions.

But Dr. Buckingham was married to the Dr. Buckingham, who made Liam’s life a living hell when he stole Beth as a baby and adopted her out to Steffy, letting Hope and Liam believe their daughter had died. And not only did her ex do that, but her daughter is engaged to Thomas Forrester, who was very much involved in that…among other things that severely affected Liam (a nice way of saying he wanted him dead a few times).

We’re not suggesting that Grace is as evil as her ex, but something does seem a little off. It was interesting to see her interaction with Finn yesterday. First, she was in a panic that Liam wasn’t getting treatment, then she was distracted by someone messaging her, and she barked, “Just leave me alone!” at the screen. Has Grace got something going on that has prevented her from paying as much attention to Liam’s case as she should have?

Of course, we could just be doing wishful thinking. In recent interviews, Scott Clifton himself seemed to lean into the possibility (a little too far) that Liam could, indeed, die. And there are fans who would most likely follow him wherever he went. But we are going to hold out…ahem, “hope”...that we’re onto something here and Liam — or Scott Clifton — will be leaving fake L.A. anytime soon.
