Liam's death story should be about...Liam: The Bold and the Beautiful Two Scoops for the Week of April 28, 2025

So, Liam has an inoperable brain tumor and now has to face his own mortality on The Bold and the Beautiful. For an often vapid character like Liam, that sounds like a fascinating tale to tell. However, he doesn't seem to be the centerpiece in his own story. For some reason, that perch belongs to the two women in his life — namely, Steffy.

Not everything's about you, Steffy

If there's one thing you can say about Steffy, it's that she absolutely loves centering herself anywhere she doesn't belong. She inserted herself into Hope and Thomas' relationship and then ended up having to tell Hope, "Hands off my husband."

Even when Sheila hadn't bothered her or Finn in months, Steffy had to stick her nose in when she learned Sheila was going to marry Deacon. Recently, she needed to give Bill a piece of her mind because she'd heard he'd upset Liam. That's how Steffy ended up coming across an unconscious Liam outside Bill's front door.

Steffy has now been conveniently inserted into Liam's death tale and has done nothing but make it all about her. She's about to bring Hope into the fold, but where is Liam in all this, aside from Steffy's living room?

The writing seemed to be on the wall when Thursday's episode didn't end with Liam giving Hope some answers, but instead with Steffy once again crying about Liam. Somehow, Liam's deathbed tale isn't going to be about Liam at all. Steffy is going to dominate this story, as she dominates so many others.

We still don't buy Hope and Carter

Hope and Carter's "romance" has always seemed like insta-love, and nothing has changed. Out of nowhere, Carter announced he'd been harboring feelings for Hope forever when there was never any indication of this before. When did we see Carter looking longingly at Hope in Rome? We didn't, because the writers made it up more than a year later.

Hope only seemed to fall for Carter because he said all the right things when she needed to hear them. She didn't seem to love him, but merely the idea that someone was secretly in love with her. She was startled by these feelings, but Thomas was gone and Finn had rejected her, so Carter seemed like a good consolation prize.

When she summarily dumped him after he did the right thing and gave Forrester Creations back to the Forresters, it felt right because it was clear that Hope never really loved Carter to begin with. That's why Liam's pleas for Hope not to give up on love — as he declared Carter to be Hope's person — fell flat. Where was this great romance between Carter and Hope that we never saw? It never existed, because for all of Carter's declaration of love for Hope, what else was he doing this past week?

Come on, Carter, give it up

Oh, that's right. He was kissing Daphne Rose backstage in an FC dressing room. Katie conveniently witnessed this kiss, so she might want to tell her niece all about it before she makes another commitment to Carter, something she seemed to be doing as the week ended.

Yes, Carter is full of it when it comes to this undying love he claims to feel for Hope. We also don't buy the undying love Daphne now claims to feel for Carter. How much time has she spent with this man anywhere other than Forrester Creations? What do they even know about each other? Since Daphne claims to have never felt love before, maybe she has mistaken her feelings for something else, because all of it feels forced. But Daphne is just a plot point, isn't she? Until we know something — anything — about this woman, that is what she will remain.

Everyone is fantastic, didn't you know?

The Forresters love themselves and each other. Because they are great. And wonderful. And every positive adjective you can imagine. They wowed the fashion world. The influencers can't believe the couture this L.A. fashion house can create. And the planet is abuzz clamoring for The Dressmaker and the Slut From the Valley to be together again. Because that is the most important thing on everyone's minds, and the social media world is losing sleep over it. Why does Ridge Forrester keep choosing that psychiatrist over his destiny in white? It just doesn't make any sense. Brooke feels the same...

Brooke isn't giving up, folks. And neither is Eric. No, not on each other, but on Ridge. Eric won't rest if Brooke and Ridge aren't together and has now made it his life's mission to make it happen. Eric might have had a point when he told Ridge he can't keep going back and forth between Brooke and Taylor after all these years. That much is true, but he really needs to be done with both of them, and they need to be done with him. We thought we'd finally hit that milestone two years ago, but alas, we're right back where we started.

At least Brooke isn't subtle. She knows what she wants, she makes no secret about it, and Ridge has been put on notice. He is this woman's destiny, whether he likes it or not, so he may as well cooperate now before we're forced to see another flashback of Grandma Brooke strolling down the runway, dressed all in white, to meet Grandpa Ridge on the other end.
