The Bold and the Beautiful Comings and Goings: Matthew Atkinson is BACK as Thomas Forrester

The Bold and the Beautiful's Thomas Forrester is coming home, and Matthew Atkinson will once again be playing the role of Ridge and Taylor's sometimes wayward son.

Soap Opera Digest confirmed Atkinson's return after he posted an Instagram video on the night of August 11th, captioned, "Second time's the charm." In the video, Atkinson is standing outside B&B's new studio in Los Angeles, playing a game of cornhole.

Atkinson, who began playing Thomas back in 2019, will be back on your Bold & Beautiful screens in September when Thomas returns to L.A. from Paris, where he had been living with Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) and his son, Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri). When we last saw Thomas, a little over a year ago, he had become engaged to Paris.

While there is no word on whether Paris will return with Thomas, the character has been mentioned in recent weeks, leading some fans to suspect that the Buckingham sisters might make a comeback. Their mother, Grace (Cassandra Creech), just put Liam (Scott Clifton) and his loved ones through hell to get some quick cash and protect her daughters.

During the year that Atkinson has been off the B&B canvas, he became a dad when he and his wife, Brytnee, welcomed a son last fall.

When Thomas left L.A. last March, he had just proposed to Hope again, and she turned him down again. However, she did tell him that she loved him for the very first time, but that wasn't good enough for Thomas. So, he took their son and moved to Paris, where he ran into Paris and they started a romance.

Hope was stunned when Thomas and Douglas returned a few months later, and Douglas was calling Paris "Mom." The trio left town again soon after and we haven't heard much about them since.

When Thomas returns this year, he will find that Hope is engaged to Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor), but there may be trouble in paradise, thanks to Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire). Hope and Liam have also grown close again, thanks to Paris' mother's dirty trick.
