The nominations for the 2025 Daytime Emmys were announced this morning, and with it came some surprises, including some new categories.

In its 38th year, CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful picked up three nominations. In the new category of Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series, Christian Weissmann (Remy Pryce) and Lisa Yamada (Luna Nozawa) picked up a nomination each. They are accompanied in the category by Olivia d'Abo as Fifi Garrett on The Bay, AnnaLynne McCord as Cat Greene on Days of our Lives, and Ashley Puzemis, who plays Holly Jonas on Days of our Lives.

In the category for Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series, Clint Howard got his nomination for his portrayal of Tom Starr. He is up against two actors from The Young and the Restless: Linden Ashby, who played Cameron Kirsten, and Valarie Pettiford as Amy Lewis. Additionally, General Hospital’s Alley Mills (Heather Webber) and Jacqueline Lopez (Blaze) are also nominated.

The Bold and the Beautiful picked up one other nomination in the category of Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup. The team will be competing for the award against The Drew Barrymore Show, General Hospital, The Jennifer Hudson Show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Secrets of the Neanderthals, and Sherri.

This year’s ceremony will see the introduction of new categories and the redistribution of former categories, including the aforementioned Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Program. For this category, eligible performers must have been on their first Daytime contract with no previous Daytime Emmy acting nominations at the time of nomination. They also must have been on their Daytime Drama for two years or less, and must be onscreen in a speaking role with at least one multi-episode story arc. There is no age restriction.

Outstanding Regional Content in a Daytime Genre is NOT an Emmy-eligible category, but is instead national recognition for outstanding regional work that will be awarded with a crystal pillar. The parameters for this category are any regional program winner that won at their home contest between the dates of June 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025 in the following applicable categories: Lifestyle, Magazine, Entertainment, and Arts/Entertainment Long or Short Form

Outstanding Culinary Instructional Series and Outstanding Culinary Cultural Series replace the former Outstanding Culinary Series category.

The former Outstanding Travel, Nature, and Adventure category is now going to be awarded in two titles: Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program, and Outstanding Nature and Science Program.

According to the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on October 17, 2025 in Pasadena, California.
