Viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful recognize Lawrence Saint-Victor and Heather Tom as B&B’s Carter Walton and Katie Logan, respectively. But behind the scenes, the two actors have taken on more productive roles and share about it on the next episode of Soapy, hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart.
The Bold and the Beautiful get Soapy

Heather Tom (Katie Logan) and Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton) sat down with Soapy hosts Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart for their new audio and video podcast. Available to fans on Tuesday, August 12th, the episode highlights the actors’ work in front of and behind the cameras.
Costar Budig, who plays B&B’s Dr. Taylor Hayes, asks what it is like for the pair to be writers of the show, and also friends with the actors. Noting that their costars most likely would want to know what is in store for their characters, she wondered how they would keep the secrets before it was time to divulge their storylines.
Saint-Victor pointed out that they don’t really know what’s fully in store, as those ideas come from head writer and executive producer Bradley Bell. But, they do have a couple of weeks’ heads up on where a storyline could be headed and help write the details. “It’s nice knowing when someone’s getting something really cool and they don’t know yet,” Saint-Victor says. Tom agreed that they help write the words that actors are going to say, but they don’t have much input on what is going to happen. “It’s really, truly his show from beginning to end,” she added.

From acting to writing for The Bold and the Beautiful

Greg Rikaart (Leo, DAYS; Kevin, Y&R) asked who started writing for the show first. Lawrence Saint-Victor explained that he had started before Heather Tom and how it came to be. Saint-Victor shared how he had come to L.A. for a producer’s session for B&B’s sister show, The Young and the Restless. “Things didn’t go my way, but I got to meet with Brad, and we started talking about stories,” he said.
Saint-Victor surprised Bell when he explained that he knew the characters as he had been a long-term fan of both The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. He had been acting on CBS’s Guiding Light with actress Karla Mosley, who is now starring on Beyond the Gates. When GL ended, he and Mosley had a web series, and Bell had seen it and told Saint-Victor when they met that he had liked the writing they had done. When he later joined the show as Carter, they continued to talk about stories and writing. Eventually, he joined the writing team as well as portraying his character in front of the camera.
You can watch the rest of the conversation on the August 12th episode of Soapy, a new audio and video podcast that dives deep into the legacy, fandom, and enduring appeal of soap operas. Soapy is available on Audacy or wherever podcasts are found, with full video episodes on the CBS brand YouTube channel.
