The powers that be at The Bold and the Beautiful must have been impressed with Dance Moms star Nia Sioux in the role of Forrester intern Emma, because they've signed her on as a series regular.

The soap world is filled with twists and turns, but here's one The Bold and the Beautiful fans likely didn't see coming: Dance Moms star Nia Sioux has sashayed her way into a contract role at the CBS soap opera.

As Soap Central previously reported earlier this spring, the young dancer signed on for a short-term story arc as Emma, a new Forrester intern. And after she wrapped the role, it seems executive producer Bradley Bell signed her on as a series regular.

"It's been an incredible experience already on set," Sioux says of her B&B adventure. "I'm a little nervous, but more excited I would say to do my first scripted show. Dance Moms is reality, so I'm not acting. Getting to play someone else is really fun."

Lifetime's Dance Moms follows the early training and careers of children in dance and show business as well as their doting mothers that rival each other in their daughters' interests. After starring on the reality series for seven seasons, Sioux made the decision to leave and look for new opportunities.

"The cameras have followed me since I was nine years old, so I think that prepared me for this role, definitely," she says of how her Dance Moms experience helped her on B&B. "When I first came out to LA, that's something that I wanted to try, acting. And I took my first acting lesson, and I went to my first audition, and I just fell in love with it. Dancing, you don't get to use your words. You have use motions to get your point across and to express your emotions and to play the character. With acting, you're actually using words, and it's like, 'Oh my gosh!'"

Sioux hasn't revealed exactly what fans can expect now that Emma will be on the canvas full-time, but she teases the character is actually a lot like her in real life.

"Getting to play a character like Emma, it seems really cool because she's kinda like me. Emma is the new intern, and she loves fashion and is in love with Forrester Creations. I really connected with the character because this is her dream job, and she just wants to make a good impression," Sioux says, adding that she loves the actors her storyline puts her in connection with. "The experience here has been so amazing already, just getting to meet all of the cast. Like John McCook, who plays Eric Forrester, I was so excited to meet him. He's just the friendliest guy ever."
