With less than a week to go until his first appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful, Vincent Irizarry (ex-David Hayward, All My Children) is opening up about what viewers can expect from Dr. Jordan Armstrong.

The Bold and the Beautiful's baby swap storyline has already proven it's a winner, bringing the CBS soap opera the best ratings in a key demographic that it has ever received. But the gold is set to keep on coming next week, when veteran daytime star Vincent Irizarry makes his debut as Dr. Jordan Armstrong, who will offer a bit more intrigue into the entertaining story.

The actor, who's known for playing Guiding Light's Brandon "Lujack" Luvanoczeck, Days of our Lives' Deimos Kiriakis, and The Young and the Restless' David Chow -- but is arguably best known for his Emmy-winning work as All My Children's evil Dr. David Hayward -- will make his B&B debut on Monday, August 26. And he's sharing that his new alter ego might not be what viewers expect when they think back on his soapy past.

"Even though I've played a doctor before, it's not like Jordan is going to be exactly like [AMC's] David, because the backstory always informs who the character is," he reveals to Soaps In Depth. "I never worry about having to bring something different [to my portrayal] -- it all stems from who the guy is and where he comes from."

Irizarry remains mum about exactly how Dr. Armstrong will fit into the fallout of the baby swap story, but he reveals that no matter how crazy it might get, he's game.

"I'm open to whatever they throw my way," he teases, adding that one of the best parts about his new B&B gig is reuniting with his on-screen AMC nemesis Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, B&B; ex-Zach Slater, AMC) and many of his former Y&R castmates. "It's like one huge repertory company with all of these shows at this point. I've been in this medium for nearly 40 years, so I've worked with so many people, not only the actors on the show but also people on the crew and production throughout all these years. It's great!"

What do you think brings Dr. Jordan Armstrong to B&B? How do you think Irizarry's new daytime alter ego will fit into the soap's baby swap storyline?
