A scripted comedy series about COVID-19, titled Love in the Time of Corona, is the latest project by talented television producer/former soap star Joanna Johnson (ex-Caroline Spencer, The Bold and the Beautiful).

The Bold and the Beautiful alum Joanna Johnson (ex-Caroline Spencer, Karen Spencer) isn't letting the COVID-19 pandemic slow down her creative efforts. In fact, her latest project is all about it! Together with Anonymous Content, the former daytime star is producing a scripted comedy for Freeform called Love in the Time of Corona.

According to Deadline, the four-part romantic comedy will explore the search for love, sex, and connection during this time of social distancing via several interwoven stories of an ensemble of characters who are sheltering in their homes. One character wonders if a hook-up with a roommate can ever be casual, while another is kicking herself for deciding to isolate with an ex.

"This is the perfect show for a generation who is learning to love and be loved in a time when the entire world is telling them to stay six feet apart," says Lauren Corrao, executive vice president, Programming and Development, Freeform. "Although the constraints have been difficult during this time, immense creativity has flourished and we could not be more grateful that Joanna brought this series to Freeform."

Adds Johnson, "Love is a basic and central need. Finding it in the time of corona may pose unique challenges, but it won't stop us from forging great love stories, inspiring grand romantic gestures and profound acts of kindness."

Love in the Time of Corona, which will be filmed using remote technologies in the homes of the talent as the backdrop to the stories, is set to premiere in August.

Johnson joined B&B in 1987 and has appeared on the show as both Caroline Spencer and Karen Spencer. Her last visit to the CBS drama was in 2014. In addition to acting, she's also a well-known television producer with major shows like Hope & Faith, The Fosters, and Good Trouble to her name.
