Another COVID diagnosis affects The Bold and the Beautiful production

The Bold and the Beautiful once again had to adjust its production schedule due to a positive COVID-19 test from someone connected to the CBS soap opera.

A crew member working on The Bold and the Beautiful tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday of this week, forcing the CBS soap opera to once again change its filming plans.

The positive result, reported by Deadline, triggered state and county procedures and industry protocols that include contact tracing and requiring anyone who interacted with the infected individual to self-isolate.

Fortunately, viewers won't see an interruption of on-screen material because B&B was able to slightly adjust its production schedule to accommodate the setback; the show has a scheduled two-week Thanksgiving production hiatus starting Monday, but it reportedly combined scenes that were set to tape on Thursday and Friday of this week and filmed them in one day.

As Soap Central previously reported, a staffer from The Bold and the Beautiful tested positive for COVID-19 in late summer. As a precaution, the studio moved up the show's dark week for that month and added a second dark week.

B&B's sister soap, The Young and the Restless, had a COVID-19 issue of its own at the beginning of November. Two people connected to the drama tested positive for the virus, one of them being actor Donny Boaz (Chance Chancellor), who had to be recast with actor Justin Gaston, the real-life husband of Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman).
