Denise Richards has proven that she can take on the catty characters of The Bold and the Beautiful as her soap opera alter ego, Shauna Fulton. But can she take on pirates? Fans are going to find out via an upcoming feature film called Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove.
The swashbuckling adventure film -- which reunites Richards with her Starship Troopers costar Patrick Muldoon (ex-Austin Reed, Days of our Lives) -- follows time-traveling pirates who are mistaken as drunken actors and end up battling a group of modern-day kids with high-tech gadgetry.
Both Richards and Muldoon play parents of the kids in what is to be the first film in a planned franchise: Muldoon as dad Jackson Dare, and Richards as single mom Victoria Dare, who struggles with the loss of her husband and copes by gravitating toward a slew of unsuitable partners in search of the best one to help raise her son.
Malcolm McDowell plays Captain Lynch, a villain who leads the pirates looking for the elusive treasure map, while Eric Balfour plays Geoffrey Pistol, a dashing first mate who has beef with Lynch. Additional stars include Lew Temple, Casey Simpson, McKinley Blehm, Lucas Jaye, Connor Cain, and YouTube phenomenon Gavin Magnus.
Teases director Rick Spalla, "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove is the launching point for the entire Timecrafters franchise introducing the colourful storyline and the cast of misfit characters. The film is reminiscent of classic Disney narratives with sword-play, pirate ships, canon battles, and even a Steam Punk time machine."
Timecrafters is set to hit big screens for a limited engagement that begins Saturday, December 12. Additional screenings will be available on Sunday, December 13, and Tuesday, December 15. Richards and Muldoon are making it a habit to team up for films. In addition to Starship Troopers, the pair also starred together in the 2015 movie A Christmas Reunion and in 2019's My Adventures with Santa.
