Fans who have been tuning in to The Bold and the Beautiful these past few months have probably noticed that neither Katrina Bowden nor Darin Brooks has had much storyline as their B&B alter egos, Flo Fulton and Wyatt Spencer. Rumors that they've left the CBS soap opera have been swirling, but the show's executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell, says not to worry.
In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Bell revealed that he hasn't been featuring Bowden and Brooks because they are both working on other projects right now, but he assures fans that they are "still very much a part of the makeup of the show" and that he has incorporated them in storylines set to air later this year.
Brooks is currently starring in the Hulu and Peacock animated series The Croods: Family Tree. He also recently signed on to play a recurring role opposite Grey's Anatomy alum Sarah Drew in the Apple TV+ comedy series Amber Brown, which is what first prompted rumors that the actor was leaving B&B. At the time, a rep for the soap confirmed to Soap Central that Brooks remained on contract.
Meanwhile, Katrina Bowden was recently cast in the crime drama Dead Wrong, an indie film that follows a narcissist who concocts a get-rich-quick scheme that ignites a violent chain reaction and overwhelms the lives of those around him, including his now-suicidal wife Barbara (Bowden), who selflessly subjugated much of her life in favor of his schemes and fragile emotional well-being.
There's no further information about the B&B storylines that Bell has in store for Flo and Wyatt at this time, so fans will have to keep tuning in to the CBS soap to see what the head writer has up his sleeve for the fictional Los Angeles residents.
