Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful have been anxiously awaiting the father/son fashion showdown at Forrester Creations. Later this month they'll see the payoff when the CBS soap devotes five episodes to the runway smackdown.
To make the event even more special, The Bold and the Beautiful has recruited a handful of special guests to really amp up the excitement.
People reports that singer and actress Marie Osmond will appear on B&B as the wealthy Countess Von Frankfurt, who will bring "excitement in the air" when she travels to L.A. to weigh in on Eric and Ridge's designs.
This will be Osmond's first soap opera appearance, but you'd be forgiven if you thought that she's appeared on a soap before. Back at the 2011 Daytime Emmys, Osmond announced that she'd be appearing on B&B. Adam Gregory, who played Thomas Forrester at the time, told Entertainment Tonight that Osmond was headed to B&B. Osmond added at the time, "That's right, you only have One Life to Live and All My Children asked me to do a soap, so I'm doing The Bold and the Beautiful, 'cause I'm bold, and he's beautiful."
It's unclear why that appearance never happened.
Soaps might be the only thing that Osmond hasn't done in her career. She's had nine Top 40 hits on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and four number ones on the publication's Country chart, hosted a variety series with brother Donny Osmond (who appeared as himself in a November 2006 episode of All My Children), starred in the ABC sitcom Maybe This Time opposite B&B alum Betty White (ex-Ann Douglas), and been a co-host on the CBS talk show The Talk.
Joining Osmond for the highly anticipation fashion show will be two familiar faces from the CBS Daytime lineup: The Young and the Restless stars Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) and Kate Linder (Esther Valentine).
Lauren and Esther arrive in Los Angeles after receiving "two golden tickets to the exclusive fashion show where Ridge and Eric each premiere their own couture designs," according to a B&B logline. The network also teases that Esther has always dreamed of one day owning a Forrester Creations original."
Bregman has previously appeared on B&B, as a serious regular in the late 1990s and as a special guest on several occasions since that time. This, however, will be Linder's first time gracing Y&R's sister soap.
B&B fans will recall that Ridge and Carter, played by Lawrence Saint-Victor, had previously mentioned that they did not want attendees of the fashion showdown to know that there was actually a competition between Eric and Ridge.
The five-part Forrester fashion face-off kicks off on October 25. Osmond will first appear on October 27.
