On The Bold and the Beautiful, Dr. Grace Buckingham has been Liam’s physician since he blacked out at Bill’s house months ago. While she is attentive to her patient, she also seems distracted by something.
Liam’s fatal diagnosis on The Bold and the Beautiful

After a few (more than usual) dizzy spells, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) lost his balance and fell at the Spencer mansion after an awful argument with his father, Bill (Don Diamont). At first, we weren’t sure if it was the sight of blood that made him collapse again, but when he fell outside the front door, he was lucky that Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) found him and got him to a hospital.
But Dr. Grace Buckingham (Cassandra Creech) was on hand to operate and save Liam’s life. He had a cranial hemorrhage, but she performed emergency surgery and stopped the bleeding. However, the operation also gave a new diagnosis: Liam also had an inoperable brain mass.
A Dr. Buckingham who helps?

While we can’t hold Grace accountable for other people’s actions, she’s not the first Dr. Buckingham to have an impact on Liam’s life. Grace’s ex-husband (or at least estranged, last we heard), Dr. Reese Buckingham (Wayne Brady), was the one who told Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam that their baby, Beth, had died on Catalina Island and had secretly sold her in a private adoption — to Steffy.
This Dr. Buckingham, however, claims to have put some distance between herself and Reese. But, she does have something on her mind, other than her patients. While Grace told Liam that his tumor couldn’t be removed, she did tell him that there were treatments he could try that could slow down the decline. Regardless, however, she told him that his fate was inevitable death.
But Liam didn’t want to try the treatment. He had watched his mom struggle through her treatments, and it ended up being too painful. He didn’t want to put his daughters and their moms through that.
Grace’s distractions

One day, Grace went to Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) office and asked him to get Liam to decide to start treatment before it was too late. She seemed desperate for his response, but as she spoke, she received text messages. She muttered to leave her alone, and Finn couldn’t help but notice. Since then, on more than one occasion, Finn has brought up Reese and mentioned that he was aware of her family issues. He offered to be there for her if she ever wanted to talk.
The last time Reese was mentioned was when he had reportedly admitted his guilt in the kidnapping and adoption scam that he had done with Baby Beth. He used the money he had made to pay off his gambling debts. After confessing, he supposedly went to prison.
But is Grace in some sort of trouble? Were there outstanding debts that Reese hadn’t paid, and someone is coming after her for the balance owed? She also has two daughters — one, named Paris, is engaged to Steffy’s brother, and Hope’s ex, Thomas Forrester. He was very much involved in the secret of Beth’s kidnapping. What is really going on with Grace, and will it end up hurting Liam — or anyone else?
