Ridge was stunned to see Sheila, who was holding a handgun. Sheila could not believe the ineptitude of her henchmen. She ordered Anna to leave but warned her to keep her mouth shut. Sheila knew that Ridge wished she were dead but insisted that what had happened to Taylor had been an accident. She explained to Ridge that if he wanted to see his family again, he'd do exactly as she asked.

Nick saw an opportunity and jumped from the shadows. A fight ensued, but Ridge and Nick froze when they heard a gunshot, and Sugar appeared. Sheila pulled off Nick's disguise. Nick informed Sheila that Massimo had contacted the embassy, but Sheila assured them that she'd be long gone before anyone found them.

Brooke was determined to find a way to help Ridge, despite Massimo's warnings. She realized Anna recognized Nick and Ridge when she showed her the photos of them. Brooke begged Anna to reveal where Ridge was, but Anna was fearful.

Deacon took Macy to interview for a gig at Ozzz but was stunned when he found out Oscar was the owner. Oscar tried to convince Deacon that the place was legit and his troubles in Vegas were over, but Deacon wasn't interested. Oscar promised he'd do anything they wanted if Macy would agree to sing at his club.

In the bar, Brooke begged Anna to tell her where Nick and Ridge were. Brooke made sure that Anna knew that Ridge was the father of three children and that their mother had been killed. Brooke also revealed to Anna that she and Ridge had just been remarried after many years of broken dreams for both of them.

Anna accidentally mentioned that a woman named Sheila was behind the kidnapping. Anna said that she feared for her own life if she helped Brooke. Brooke promised Anna that Massimo, a powerful man, could protect Anna from the kidnappers. Out of fear, Anna refused to help Brooke.

Meanwhile, Sheila tied Nick up and made him part of the ordeal. Ridge could not understand how Sheila was out of prison. Sheila admitted that she had gotten out after paperwork had been botched. Ridge taunted Sheila about Taylor's murder.

Sheila denied that it was murder. In Sheila's opinion, it was only a tragic accident that Taylor had been shot and killed. Sheila revealed to Ridge that she knew he had remarried Brooke. Sheila questioned just how miserable Ridge's life had actually been after Taylor had died.

Sheila's friend warned Sheila that Ridge and Nick were never supposed to see them. It meant they knew how Sheila had escaped from prison. Nick deduced that Sheila's friend was the warden at the prison. Sheila rationalized the kidnapping to Ridge by explaining that she wanted a chance to start over.

At Oscar's club, Deacon voiced his concern over Macy singing there. He was concerned that Macy would be in danger by people from Oscar and Deacon's past in Las Vegas. Oscar guaranteed Deacon that the club was free of the criminal element. Macy and Deacon agreed to Oscar's deal.

Back in the bar, Brooke desperately tried to find someone who knew Nick and Ridge's whereabouts. Brooke noticed on the bar that there was a napkin with the name Sheila written on it.

Oscar was overseeing the crew's work on the club when Bridget stopped by with doughnuts for the workers. She told him she'd heard the advertisements on the radio, saying the Macy was the headliner for the grand opening. Oscar told her that he'd reached an agreement with Deacon and that he was letting go of the past.

Bridget was very proud of Oscar and tried to calm his nerves about the opening. He invited her to be with him at the opening and let her know that it might be a late evening. As Bridget left for work, she gave him a kiss for good luck.

As Macy awoke, Deacon was excited about the day ahead of them. Suddenly, they heard Sally, who was outside with a bullhorn, announcing Macy's comeback performance to the neighborhood. Deacon led Sally and Clarke inside. Both were very proud of Macy. Clarke had two gowns for Macy to pick from, which he'd made especially for her. After Sally and Clarke left, Macy told Deacon that she'd never been happier.

Stephanie entered Amber's office, where Amber was packing her things. Stephanie said that she didn't have to leave. Amber confided in Stephanie that she'd made her mistakes, and she couldn't force Rick to see her. Amber was certain that leaving Forrester was the right thing to do. Stephanie begged her to talk to Rick, but Amber said that she loved him too much to ask him to forgive her again.

As Rick stood in the hallway and listened at the door, Amber told Stephanie that she had to move on and give Rick a chance to move on too. Stephanie realized that Amber had made up her mind but reminded her that she'd always be a part of the family and to call if she needed anything. As Amber left, she passed by Rick in the hall. He didn't try to stop her.

Oscar was still working at the club when "friends" from his casino days in Vegas appeared. Jimmy was interested in what Oscar had going on, but Oscar reminded him that he'd paid his debt to Jimmy, and they no longer had any business together. Oscar asked the men to leave, and on their way out, they tore a poster of Macy, promising that it would be a grand opening Oscar would never forget.

Bridget told Samantha that Oscar had invited her to be his guest at the opening of his club. At the club, Oscar remembered that two members of the mob from Las Vegas had threatened him.

Sally and Clarke arrived at the opening of Oscar's club to see Macy perform. Sally told Oscar that she was certain that Macy would be a big hit at the club. Sally was rattled when she noticed Darla and Thorne arrive together. Sally told Thorne and Darla to leave.

At home before the show, Deacon gave Macy a gift. The gift was to celebrate Macy's first singing appearance with Deacon as her manager. Macy and Deacon prepared to leave for the club. As they were leaving, Deacon noticed that the answering machine had a message on it. He did not listen to the message. The message was Oscar telling Deacon to call him prior to arriving at the club with Macy.

Samantha and Bridget arrived at Oscar's club. When Samantha met Oscar, she questioned whether Bridget and Oscar were friends or if they shared powerful chemistry.

Deacon pointed out to Macy that Darla and Thorne had arrived at the club together. Macy was surprised to see Darla and Thorne together but decided not to let them upset her. A few minutes later, Thorne and Darla went backstage to talk to Macy. Darla told Macy that Macy had always been her best friend, and she only wanted to wish Macy the best. Macy was gracious. She told Darla and Thorne that she was happy that they were both there to see her perform.

The crowd seemed to love Macy as she sang. Oscar noticed the two mobsters inside his club. Oscar was horrified to see that they were up to some kind of trouble.

Macy's finale ended tragically when the chandelier crashed down on top of her head. Oscar had seen the thug unscrewing the bolts to the fixture and had tried to make his way through the crowd to push Macy out of the way. Unfortunately, he hadn't gotten there in time. Macy was rushed by ambulance to the hospital with Deacon at her side.

When they arrived, Deacon reflected on conversations he'd had with Macy and her passion for getting her singing career going, while holding on to her new family. Sally and Clark arrived at the hospital. Everybody was upset because they didn't have any answers about what had caused the accident.

Oscar entered the hospital with Bridget. Deacon confronted Oscar, who told him that he had seen the guy responsible for hurting Macy and that it hadn't been an accident. When he told Deacon that Jimmy Walter was behind Macy's accident and that Oscar had had an earlier warning because he had been threatened, Deacon went ballistic.

Brooke returned to the hotel, where she learned that Massimo had left to try to rescue his sons. She was even more upset because she knew what Massimo didn't -- that Sheila was behind the kidnapping. Brooke tried to explain to Charles that Sheila was crazy. She told him the story behind Sheila killing Taylor, wounding Brooke, losing her daughter, and blaming Ridge and Massimo for all the depressing things that had happened in her life.

Charles shocked Brooke by telling her that Nick was with Ridge. Charles didn't buy Brooke's theory about Sheila until he received a fax photo intended to verify that Sheila was still in prison. Brooke looked at the picture and told Charles the person in the photo was not Sheila.

Massimo also didn't know that Sheila had her own plans for what would happen when she met face-to-face with him. Sheila prepared for her meeting, putting a gun in her bag. She said she'd waited a long time to confront Massimo. The entire kidnapping plan had been about getting revenge against Massimo.

Two of Sheila's thugs arrived to pick up the ransom money from Massimo. Massimo insisted they take him to see his sons, and if they did, he would give them the ten million dollars to split between themselves, and nobody else would need to know. They told him it was too late because the person in charge already knew. With that statement, Sheila emerged from the darkness to tell Massimo not everybody was as disloyal as he was.
