THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL BEST OF THE WEEK
MOMENTS

The trick to a successful soap is giving viewers something new and familiar at the same time. B&B excels at this, as evidenced by moments that occurred in last week's shows. A surprise back-from-the-dead appearance? That would be Luna being alive.
A square off between two romantic rivals? That would be Taylor and Brooke.
A romantic montage in Italy featuring B&B's premiere couple? That would be Ridge and Brooke. Bonus: B&B sprang for the rights to play "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole and daughter Natalie Cole — Ridge and Brooke's song. We could watch that boat ride over and over and over again — how many viewings did you give it?
Sheila is not all bad. She reached out with sensitivity to Li, asking if she could see her granddaughter. Li, of course, is apprehensive about bringing Sheila to Luna's final resting place — because there isn't one.
There was some young love, too, with Will and Electra. They think that Luna's dead and out of their lives, but little do they know that that is not the case.
A shocking twist? That would be Finn getting suspicious about the size of the incisions on Liam's skull. They were simply too small for the type of surgery that took place. Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice from Alice in Wonderland.
It was great fun watching Tanner Novlan (Finn) tap into a more assertive side to his character. Finn has taken an oath to uphold medicine, and if he suspects something's amiss, he's going to speak up. Finn's also a bit curious that his mom, Dr. Li Finnegan, is taking a leave of absence. We are #TeamFinn all the way to getting to the bottom of all of his questions.
SCENES

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Italy, Brooke put her love on the line once again with Ridge. Oh, sure, he's engaged to Taylor, but Brooke just sees that as a minor obstacle. Or that should be the case! After all, she believes Ridge loves her, but not even Brooke can wait around forever. If Ridge isn't going to man up and dump Taylor, Brooke says she'll run off with Nick.

Nick Marone is the Ashley Abbott to Ridge and Brooke's Victor and Nikki of The Young and the Restless. By that, we mean he's the romantic foil that's a true, viable threat. We really could see a Nick/Brooke long-term pairing.
Our heart rates started to quicken when Ridge gave Brooke hope for the future (no pun intended) when he asked her to stick around for the fashion events. Passions intensified when Brooke said that Nick was offering her world, and she was prepared to go see it with him.
Thousands of miles away, back in Los Angeles, there was plenty of drama going on. Dr. Li Finnegan is trying to keep a secret that her granddaughter Luna is still alive! The tension between Li and Sheila is palpable: Sure, Sheila's been on her best behavior, but we can see these two grandmothers going to the mat once Sheila finds out that Luna didn't die.
NOTABLES
Doctor, doctor, give me the news

Soaps are all about confrontations. So, it was great to see Finn ask Grace to give him the 411 on Liam and his "miracle" surgery. It truly looked like Liam was a goner until B&B threw us this twist that nobody saw coming.
Holy, Hitchcock! I spy a B&B producer!

B&B treated viewers not only to new remote footage but also to some scenes shot in Italy in previous episodes. We spied B&B Supervising Producer Casey Kasprzyk in the background of one of the show's location shoots.
QUOTABLES

Deacon's dark humor
Deacon: "Hey. Everything okay? Is it the missing toe?"
Sheila: "No. I'm missing my granddaughter. I miss Luna."
Truer words were never spoken
Eric (to Ridge): "Brooke is the love of your life!"
More lines we loved
Taylor (viewing pictures of Italy on Donna's phone): "Wow! That's stunning! Look at that view!
Donna (referring to Eric): "Look at that handsome face!"
Nick asks Brooke if he can spend time with her in Italy. Brooke: "I might be able to squeeze you in!"
A medical marvel
Li (to a comatose Luna): "I'm not going to let you die, Luna!"
All is not well
Ridge asks Brooke if she's all right. Brooke: "How can I possibly be all right. All of the memories, everything that you and I have shared together? No, no, I'm not all right."
The Bold and the Beautiful summed up in one speech from Brooke Logan
Brooke (to Ridge): "This hurts you? Imagine what it's doing to me...Ridge, everybody is happy to see us together. But the problem is, we're not together. We're on again/off again/on again/off again, and it's absolutely driving me insane."
FASHION

As if the glamorous views of Italy weren't enough (to say nothing of the terrific establishing shots of Los Angeles that B&B provides us), we were also treated to a fashion show last week.

Of course, the models were all fabulous, but our eyes were on Queen Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) herself! Brooke's floral ruffle-trim maxi dress that she wore in Italy can be seen here!
MUSINGS
Doctor, heal thyself!

If Taylor ends up as the odd woman out if and when Ridge and Brooke get back together, we sincerely hope that Taylor finds a man of her own. Might she be paired with Bill (Don Diamont)? He seems to have turned over a new leaf in terms of showing compassion in light of Liam's "near-death" experience. They'd have to get past that whole "I shot you" thing from years ago, but that's doable!
Special delivery

Maybe...just maybe...the characters on B&B can find another eatery other than Il Giordano's. Sure, the pizza is great, but if Li is trying to keep Sheila from finding out that Luna's alive, then she might want to find another restaurant. Or download an app that provides food delivery. What about old stand-bys like Cafe Russe and Griffey's?
