On The Bold and the Beautiful, once again, Brooke Logan and Ridge Forrester prove to us, the world, and her sister that Logans don’t stick together; they cut each other down.

If you thought you’d seen the height of Forrester arrogance, buckle up, because the "Bridge" ego train just pulled into the station, and it’s uglier than a leftover fruitcake. This week on The Bold and the Beautiful, we are witnessing what might be the most ludicrous power play in recent history: Brooke Logan and Ridge Forrester trying to legally forbid Katie from using her own last name for her new business.

Let’s just pause and marinate in the absurdity of this.

According to the latest spoilers for the week of December 29, Brooke explicitly forbids Katie from using the name "Logan," claiming it basically belongs to her brand. Excuse me? Since when did Brooke become the sole proprietor of a surname she shares with two sisters and a brother? Last I checked, Katie’s birth certificate reads "Logan" just as clearly as Brooke’s. In fact, while Brooke has collected last names like commemorative plates—Forrester, Marone, Chambers, Jones, Spencer—Katie has arguably held onto the Logan identity with far more dignity.

The sheer narcissism of Brooke acting as the Gatekeeper of the Logan Legacy is a load of rubbish. It reeks of insecurity. Is the great Brooke Logan Forrester so threatened by her baby sister’s success that she has to trademark their daddy’s name just to shut her down? And dragging Ridge into it? Of course, the Dressmaker is onboard; anything to stroke Brooke’s ego and keep the Forrester/Logan hierarchy intact.

Then we have the legal circus. We’re watching Carter and Liam literally race to trademark the name "Logan." Really, Carter? You’re the COO of Forrester, giving legal advice to Ridge and Brooke to undermine a former Forrester employee who is also the mother of your best friend’s child? The conflict of interest here is blinding, even for a soap lawyer. Legally, trademarking a common surname—especially one used by the opposing party since birth—is a nightmare. You generally can't just trademark a last name to block a family member from using it in a non-confusing commercial way. But in this fictional LA, apparently, the gavel bangs for whoever files the paperwork first.

Katie needs to stop looking for permission and start looking for a new lawyer. This isn’t just business; it’s a personal slap in the face. Bill Spencer is going to be rightfully furious, and for once, "Dollar Bill" could be voice of reason we need. He wants Katie free of the Forrester stranglehold, and he’s right.

Katie, if you’re listening: Give Brooke the middle finger. Forge ahead. Slap "Logan" on your letterhead in 72-point font and dare them to sue you. Let them explain to a judge why the name you were born with is somehow the exclusive intellectual property of your big sister. It’s time to show them that being a Logan isn’t about who slept with whom—it’s about heart. And right now, Brooke doesn’t have one.
