Welcome to The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

While The Bold and the Beautiful is certainly trying with its new story highlighting that homelessness epidemic, specifically vehicular homelessness, it's not working for various reasons. First, the ham-handed lessons it tried to give on the December 29th episode, with Will reading homeless statistics like he's giving a college lecture, seemed more like preaching than anything else. Each scene seemed to be nothing more than a PSA and did not organically flow within the confines of a soap opera story. Second, all it did was illustrate just how entitled and out of touch nearly every character on this show is. Electra seemed to know nothing at all about homelessness and how it affected her generation. She didn't even want to believe that Dylan was living out of her car. After all, she was a college student and didn't college students always have a place to live no matter what? Plus, this story also brings home just how silly Luna's story was. That girl had no job and no money, yet she had no trouble finding a small one-room apartment, had an entire versatile wardrobe with accessories, and even enough money for some professional highlights. Yet Dylan, a girl who tries to earn by taking part-time jobs and summer jobs, is living out of her car. We also have to wonder if there's a twist here, or if B&B is really just doing a PSA.
