Welcome to The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful
We almost did a spit take when The Bold and the Beautiful's Katie told Brooke that Ridge is a man who honors his commitments. Then, we wondered if Katie had taken some of Poppy's magic mints because that was quite a comment she made. Katie was talking about Ridge Forrester, a man who has been bouncing back between the same two women for nearly 40 years. As Brooke and Katie had just been discussing, he was engaged to Brooke and hopped into bed with Taylor within an hour (give or take) after assuming Brooke had betrayed him and Forrester Creations. The last time Ridge was with Taylor and nearly married her, he had annulled his marriage to Brooke without even telling her, again due to a misunderstanding. When he learned that Taylor knew the annulment was under false pretenses and she was ready to marry him anyway, he dumped Taylor in a hot minute. Katie's statement was truly one of the most absurd things we have ever heard uttered on soaps. Ridge has been nothing but a playboy since B&B debuted way back in 1987. The idea that he is a man who honors his commitments is antithetical to everything this character is about, and really has us wondering if this soap is trying to rewrite history, even recent history. Or perhaps Katie really has lost her mind.
