The Bold and the Beautiful Daily YAPP Recap, September 1: Stop calling what Luna did to Will "making love"

Welcome to The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

The Bold and the Beautiful has a nasty habit of putting characters in extremely uncomfortable (for lack of a better word) sexual situations and not really addressing what these situations are — essentially sexual assault. Last week, we listened to Katie delicately tell her son that some girl took advantage of him, but also made sure that he didn't tell his girlfriend for fear of ruining the good thing he has with her. We also listened to the sexual assaulter claim she was making love to the man she forced herself on, something she again did on the September 1st episode. Let's make one thing clear right off the bat. What Luna did to Will was absolutely NOT making love. She assaulted the young man, plain and simple, yet also disturbing. There was nothing about the situation that Luna put Will in. Hearing Luna use the term making love frankly makes us sick. The more she talks, the more delusional she sounds. Sheila has done her best to make sure that Luna knows Will had no clue she was the one he was with that night, but she has yet to correct her dastardly and disturbed granddaughter and tell her that she did not make love to Will. What Luna did to Will was the complete opposite of love. It was a violation that came from a place of obsession. The Bold and the Beautiful either needs to put an end to these scenarios or start calling them what they are.
