Welcome to The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

So, The Bold and the Beautiful has finally introduced a gay male couple and wants you to know it. The show made a big announcement in Deadline, revealing that it's finally giving us a story that's now been done on soaps countless times before. In fact, on most soaps, gay characters don't even talk about being gay. They are just...people. And they happen to love someone who is the same gender. But nope, not on B&B. First, Remy had to explain that he was hiding so far in the closet that he had convinced himself that if he stalked a girl, then it would make him straight. Or at least that's what that convoluted explanation sounded like. Say what?!?! Then, we learned that Deke is Deacon's son, which we guessed as soon as Remy called his new boyfriend Deke. When Deke finally decided to stop by and see his dad after all these years, he made a point of saying he's gay, and Deacon practically said, "Not that there's anything wrong with that." Ok, B&B, hear us out. In 2025, the world does not talk like that anymore. We don't need the explanations of someone's sexual orientation, nor do we need to have an obligatory, "I don't care. You're my son." You just write the characters like they are anyone else, a la Smitty and Martin on Beyond the Gates, Lucas and Marco on General Hospital, and Leo and Javi on Days of our Lives. Write the couple like anyone else, and the story will be a success.
