The Christmas spirit overtook Los Angeles on The Bold and the Beautiful this week. The first few episodes were cheerful, but things ended dramatically. After formally defecting from Forrester Creations last week, Katie kicked things into a higher gear this week, making things official for her new fashion house. She invited her sisters, Brooke and Donna, along with Ridge, to Spencer for the official name reveal, which is where things went off the rails.

With quiet confidence, Katie unveiled the name of her fashion house as “Logan,” which instantly sent Brooke into a downward spiral. For the first time in ages, she was losing her grip on a narrative that she's controlled for her entire career. Brooke was adamant that her little sister couldn’t use that name, her name, and instead of cowering down, Katie became defiant and read Brooke for filth, something long overdue. It was Katie’s masterclass read of Brooke that earned Heather Tom the Performer of the Week honors.

Heather Tom proved herself on The Bold and the Beautiful

Make no mistake, Heather Tom proved herself many years ago, and her portrayal of Katie Logan has earned her four Daytime Emmy awards. However, over the last few years, Katie has largely faded into the background, making sporadic appearances with no real story. This changed when Will (Crew Morrow) was assaulted by Luna (Lisa Yamada), and his family was forced to contend with her pregnancy, which she used as leverage over their lives. It was with this that Katie slowly put the pieces back together and reclaimed her voice. After Luna’s death, Katie’s prominence continued, and this week was the best example.

After leaving Forrester and embarking on her own fashion house, Katie was thrilled to reveal the company's name to her sisters, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Donna (Jennifer Gareis). However, things went awry when Katie unveiled the name to be "Logan," the name Brooke has become synonymous with in the fashion industry. The moment Brooke pushed back against Katie's choice of name, Heather Tom slipped into one of the best performances of her career. She expertly portrayed the purging of emotions stemming from a lifetime of resentment as the overlooked little sister.

Tom took the hurt that Katie must've felt her entire life, and channeled that unresolved pain into a monologue that exposed every negative quality about Brooke, including taking Katie's tireless PR efforts for granted. Despite Brooke's best efforts to discourage Katie from using the Logan name for her endeavor, she refused to back down. This was a sisterly showdown that felt relatable. Tom's impassioned speech resonated with anyone watching who has ever been overlooked and pushed aside by their family.

What's next for Katie Logan?

Katie has a monumental task ahead of her, and it's one that's going to ignite a family war between her and her sisters. If she chooses to keep the Logan name for her new company, it won't go over well with Brooke, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), and the rest of Forrester Creations. The tension will also put her son, Will, in a strange spot, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him defect to Spencer Publications and work with his father. If that occurs, there's no telling how it could impact Will and Electra's (Laneya Grace) relationship since they are from two feuding families.

Once she gets past the hurdle about the Logan name, things are still completely uphill for Katie's new fashion house. As of this writing, she has no lead designer and nobody experienced in the fashion business to help bring her creation to life. She has a logo marred by controversy and a deep desire to step out of her sister's shadow. That's about it. Katie has a long way to go if she plans to be a power player in the fashion industry. This story will go deep into 2026, and hopefully, it will keep Heather Tom where she belongs as a story lead.
