The Bold and the Beautiful's Heather Tom has been turning in impeccable soap opera performances since she was 15 years old. She debuted as Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless in 1990 and has been a constant on soaps ever since, earning six Daytime Emmy Awards along the way.
Recently, Tom has been relegated to back-burner status, with Katie Logan often functioning as a cheerleader for her sister Brooke's tumultuous love life, while having no life at all. This week, B&B gave Tom a chance to shine as Katie's mama bear instincts came out in full force.
Katie's shock and horror on The Bold and the Beautiful
As soon as Katie got a call from Will to head over to Bill's house for some news, her radar was up, and a quiet panic ensued. Tom's stunned reaction as Katie learned that Luna was alive was palpable as she absorbed the information and tried to make sense of it.
Then, we watched horror and disgust after learning that Luna was the girl who had sex with a drunk Will without his consent. Tom conveyed every confused and outraged emotion that Katie was feeling with just a look on her face. She was determined to get to the bottom of things — and make sure that Luna paid.
Angry Katie takes over
As Bill, Will, Li, and Katie confronted Luna about what she had done, Katie took charge, tearing into the deranged girl in front of her. Tom showed just what Katie is made of when she needs to protect her child. We could feel the fury rise within her, as well as the sheer shock at Luna's delusional attitude.
Later, when Katie and Will were finally alone together, Katie became a mom whose heart was breaking for her son. Will was devastated that Luna had done this to him and now claimed she was pregnant. Tom conveyed Katie's guilt and compassion with her tone of voice and carefully chosen words. She apologized to Will for advising him not to be up front with Electra and promised her son she would be there for him through all of this.

Tom proved she is still at the top of her game, no matter what she is given to do. She should just be given more of what we have seen this past week.
