The Bold and the Beautiful has been filled with drama and pathos of late, with multiple performers doing heartbreaking work surrounding Liam's death and dying story. However, sometimes we need a break for a little humor. That's exactly what Thorsten Kaye provided us with, as an exasperated and confused Ridge just wanted to have a peaceful day at work, making him Soap Central's Performer of the Week.

Ridge's big surprise

Ridge should know by now that a day at Forrester Creations always brings frustration and surprises. However, he didn't expect to walk into Eric's (John McCook) office on Tuesday and find Hope (Annika Noelle) standing there beside her mother. As Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) presented Hope like a prize, giddily informing her destiny that Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had given Hope her job back, Thorsten Kaye had us giggling with his startled, but understated reaction.

The puzzled look on Kaye's face and quizzical tone in his voice said it all. Ridge was perplexed, but also tired. Why can't he ever have a life without drama? Kaye showed us the suspicion building in Ridge as he wondered why Steffy and Hope really made amends, as he knows there is something much more to this story.

The Bold and the Beautiful's Ridge has had it

Ridge's confusion turned to exasperation toward the end of the week, and Kaye made us feel for Ridge. For the first time in his life, he wants to do the right and mature thing and stick to a commitment he has made to a woman. Kaye gave us a frustrated and determined Ridge who is honestly sick of the Logan women.

We could see him struggle to remain kind to Brooke, who still looks at him like she is 18 years old and he can do no wrong. He offered her a few nervous smiles as she once again pleaded for him to dump Taylor (Rebecca Budig), but with Katie (Heather Tom), he had no problem being himself. Kaye's tone of voice and every facial expression showed us how sick Ridge was of people telling him who he should be with and how to live his life. He told Katie he'd had enough, and we could tell he meant it.

Kaye didn't give us an indecisive waffling Ridge this week. He showed us a determined man who may blow his top sooner rather than later.
