On the Monday, December 8, 2025, episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy and Finn located Eric's latest designs, and despite a fight between the family, Eric ultimately agreed to give Ridge what he wanted.
What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

Eric wondered why the party had happened in the first place. He never asserted that he was looking to retire. Ridge claimed his father had earned the retirement, but he fired back, "I don't accept it." Ridge asked everyone to clear the room, and only Eric, Ridge, Brooke, and Donna remained. He told his son that he refused to be put out to pasture.
Donna wished she had been given a heads-up before she and Eric were blindsided. Ridge tried to make it sound like he was doing what was best for his father. Brooke attempted to defend him as well. Donna told her sister that the way they handled things was done poorly. She recalled telling Brooke how passionate Eric was about his recent work, and she believed that it was completely disregarded. Eric questioned why his family thought forcing him into retirement was what was best for him.
Brooke continued to defend Ridge's decision, but Eric was adamant that he would remain at Forrester. Ridge reminded him that he presented his final line when he thought he was dying. Brooke chimed in, claiming it was to avoid stress. Donna pleaded with them to listen to Eric's desire to design. Eric said Ridge was doing it for himself, and Ridge replied, "You asked me to run this company." He listed off family members from the newer generations who were ready to take the company into the future
Ridge worried that Eric would end up in a hospital bed if he kept up his pace. He turned to Donna and asked if that was what she wanted from him. Ridge presented several ideas of how Eric could spend his retirement, but Eric wouldn't listen. Eric wondered whether Ridge needed him gone that badly, and Ridge assured him it wasn't. Ridge explained to his father that he had successfully achieved his life's dreams and told him, "You've done it. You did the line. It was great.t You want to be mad at me? You don't get to be mad at me for this. You would be mad at me if I didn't do this. I don't wanna put you in jeopardy again. I love you too much."
Eric took in everything Ridge had to say and ultimately agreed to do things the way Ridge wanted. He picked up his stapler, and he walked out of the CEO's office, broken and defeated. Brooke realized that Ridge was heartbroken by the exchange, and she held him tight as tears streamed down his face.
After Eric left, Brooke proclaimed that she wished it had gone better, and Ridge looked to drown his sorrows in a glass of champagne.
Eric, on the other hand, was still irate about how he had been treated. He ranted to Donna in the showroom about how he still had a lot left in the tank. Donna agreed with her husband, and she listened intently as he raved about his latest designs. He thought it was now that he was finally coming into his own. Donna labeled the collection as some of his best work and urged Eric to show Ridge the new designs. However, he refused. He wanted to take the designs with him when he left the building.
Donna offered to speak to Brooke on Eric's behalf. Eric didn't want anyone to see the designs, though. He wanted to keep them hidden and questioned if Ridge was right and if he was no longer relevant. Eric knew his mental and physical faculties were intact, so he couldn't understand their reasoning. He stepped onto the runway, and Donna offered her deepest apologies. Eric didn't want to hear it from her. She was the last person he wanted to hear it from, but he apologized for speaking to her that way. Donna offered to wait in the car, so her husband could have a moment to himself.
Eric took one last look at the showroom before turning the lights out for the night. He walked over to his latest sketches and took a seat in the dark. It was a man accepting that his time at the company he founded had come to an abrupt end.
Daphne told Carter it didn't go over well, and Ridge handled things the wrong way. She wanted Carter to see things from the other perspective, and he seemed to be trying.
Steffy commented that Finn should be grateful that a call took him away. She explained how Eric was devastated because they were ripping any shred of power from him. She thought it was terrible, but then she looked down at Eric's designs in the showroom. Steffy said, "Nobody does couture like my grandfather." She thought the designs were stunning, and she understood his hesitation to walk away.
Steffy noted that Eric had created almost an entire collection that radiated his signature style. It was "quintessential" Eric Forrester. Nothing could take away from that. Finn was surprised because Steffy hadn't seen him at the office. She believed he was putting it together in secret at home, and she assumed it was the reason he wanted to speak to Ridge. They realized that the collection was supposed to be a presentation for Ridge to state a case for his comeback.
They wondered if Ridge would change his tune if he saw the level of artistry that Eric was still capable of. Steffy and Finn reflected on their own futures, and they understood why Ridge would want a peaceful future for himself. The debate was whether the collection was worth the potential medical risks.
