The battle lines are officially drawn on The Bold and the Beautiful on Monday, January 5, 2026. While Ridge and Brooke are busy mocking Katie Logan's new fashion house as a 'charity case,' Katie is already making a power move by scouting Deke Sharpe to be her lead designer. Here is the full recap, featuring the pitch that could change everything.
What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

Steffy was surprised that Katie opted to name her new fashion house Logan, but she didn't think it was very original. She believed Forrester had the rights to the name, but Carter explained that it lapsed a year prior. Steffy blamed Bill for this, and Brooke was quick to place blame on her little sister as well.
Brooke commented that she hardly recognized the Katie who currently existed. Brooke wished Katie the best, but she wanted her to drop the Logan name. Steffy asked if there was anything the company could do. Carter confirmed that, legally speaking, their hands were tied.
Brooke racked her brain trying to understand why Katie would want to use her name, which Ridge believed stemmed from Logan's industry reputation. Steffy thought Katie's departure was massive for the company, so recalibration was needed to keep it in good standing.
Carter attempted to defend Katie's ability to bring her company to the forefront of the industry. Steffy also complimented Katie's tech skills, which would come in handy as she launched her business. Despite their attempts to highlight Katie's positive qualities, Ridge was certain she was doomed to fail because of her lack of design experience. Carter thought Bill would grow bored by this new side quest eventually, and they'd have nothing to worry about.
Brooke felt conflicted about how to approach Katie. After naming the company Logan, she left Brooke no choice but to be offended. Ridge refused to understand why Katie would choose to use the Logan name. While everyone else, even Brooke, gave Katie some grace in the situation, Ridge remained firm.
Brooke recalled that Katie had briefly run Forrester, so the ins and outs of being the CEO of a fashion house weren't entirely foreign to her. Ridge said her tenure lasted "a minute and a half" and wished them luck in their new venture that was dead on arrival.
Bill was despised in the fashion industry, so that was an existing obstacle that Katie would face. Ridge didn't think that Bill had the soul to make anyone feel beautiful. He cared about the almighty dollar, and Katie wasn't an artist either, leaving them with nothing to work with. They weren't a threat; they were a charity case.

At Il Giardino, Deke thanked his father for giving him a job after his position at Forrester was terminated. He was eternally grateful for an opportunity to get back on his feet after his design position fell through. However, it looked like Deke's life might get a lot more interesting as Los Angeles' newest fashion house owner was stopping by for lunch.
Deke remarked to his father at how big a success the restaurant had become. Deacon ranted about everyone's love of pizza and how he studied from a genuine pizza expert in Italy. Although Deke was proud of what his father had turned his life into, the food industry wasn't his calling. He was set on becoming a designer.
Deacon was confused as to what his son did wrong to be let go by Forrester Creations. The company didn't give Deke a chance to prove himself before they gave him his walking papers. Deacon was adamant that another company would snag Deke and give him another chance to breathe life into his career.
Deke understood why the company would choose Thomas as the lead designer of Hope for the Future. Whether or not they liked it, he was back in charge of the line, and there was nothing they could do about it. Deke's new future looked bleak as he was forced to wait tables at Il Giardino instead of sketching designer gowns.

As Bill and Katie walked into the restaurant for their date, Deacon gave them the best seat in the house. Bill asked how Katie was doing after her panic attack at the office. She was determined to ignore Brooke's concerns about her new venture and prove everyone wrong. Bill encouraged her to keep at it and silence all of her critics.
Bill promised Katie that she had the tools to be successful in the fashion industry. He always knew she was capable of being a powerhouse in fashion, and now everyone else would, too. However, before Logan could get off the ground, Katie needed to secure a designer for her first line. Without a designer, she had nothing.
Katie wanted someone young and fresh to lead her company, which prompted her to turn her attention to Deke. Katie told Bill that the answer to their search stood before them, and she called Deke to the table. Katie requested a moment alone to talk to Deke, asking Bill to give them some privacy. She asked Deke if Deacon would allow him to take a break, so they could speak.

Katie expressed her sympathies about Deke being let go by Forrester, and he thanked her for her well-wishes. Katie inquired why things didn't work out between Deke and Forrester Creations, doing her due diligence before offering any opinion. Deke soaked up everything he could about working at Forrester, but it was ripped away from him.
School taught Deke the skills of the trade, but nothing compared to hands-on experience at a legendary fashion house like Forrester. Deke understood why they chose Thomas over him, and Katie assured him that nepotism played a role in his ousting.
Katie called Deke a "natural talent" and encouraged him not to give up on his dreams. Katie explained that her life had recently changed a lot, and, besides getting married, she had been gifted a fashion house. She was nervous about tackling the endeavor, and she listed all the reasons why Deke might be who she was looking for.
Katie refused to allow Brooke and Ridge to get inside her head. To silence the doubters, she needed a designer who could take Logan to the next level. Katie leaned in and told Deke, "I might be able to help you fulfill your dreams, and you might be able to help me prove my sister wrong."

Bill sauntered over to the bar and ordered a club soda, a drink choice that surprised Deacon. Bill and Deacon discussed Bill's shock wedding to Katie, and they basked in the shared joy of their children reuniting and putting their family back together. Deacon joked that it was a good thing that Liam was nothing like Bill.
He attempted to lighten the mood by pointing out that Bill was finally off the "Brooke train," now that he and Katie tied the knot again. Deacon confessed to Bill that he had considered expanding Il Giardino, since it had become a resounding success. Bill realized he was looking for an investor, so he was willing to hear his pitch. This alone showcased Bill's personal evolution.
