The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, July 10: Someone dies, and Poppy shocks everyone

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

Sheila lay in a hospital bed with Grace attending to her foot. As she began to wake, Grace explained that her surgery went well. "My granddaughter, Luna, is she okay?" Sheila asked. Grace was more concerned about Sheila's care and told her that Deacon was on his way.

Sheila once again asked about Luna and Liam, but Grace didn't have an update on how they were doing. "I'm praying that they're both going to be all right," Sheila said. Soon, Deacon arrived and took Sheila in his arms.

"I can't believe your own granddaughter shot you," Deacon said. "She didn't mean to, Deacon. It was an accident. She was just trying to get Steffy's attention. She wants a life with her father," Sheila insisted.

"I didn't want to see anyone get hurt, so I tried to take the gun from Luna. Somehow, in the struggle, it went off, and here I am," Sheila added. Deacon wished he were there to protect her. Deacon said he was praying for Liam, as he was his granddaughter's dad. "Right now I'm just glad that you're okay, cause I can't imagine my life without you," Deacon added.

Deacon also had some news for Sheila. She had to have one of her toes amputated, so now she was "Sheila Eight Toes" rather than "Nine Toes." Sheila thought he was joking at first, but was then shocked to learn it was true. "What's another toe?" Deacon said, as Sheila laughed.

Li freaked out when Luna began to bleed out. She kept calling her niece's name while Bridget got to work. Li did compressions as Luna flat-lined, but Bridget said they were losing her. Li whipped out the paddles and tried to shock Luna back to life, while uttering "Nozawa Power." Luna's heart then started beating again

In another operating room, Finn did his best to get the bullet out of Liam's chest, but Liam's pressure also dropped as Steffy watched from a window. Steffy spotted a frantic Hope arrive with Carter and explained to her what was going on. "Finn has to save him. He has to. That's our daughters' dad in there," Hope said.

Carter was stunned that Luna shot her own grandmother. "Sheila dove in. They struggled for the gun, and Sheila ended up getting shot in the foot," Steffy said. "I'm alive because of Liam. He saved me. Remember, he said he was always going to protect us, Hope? He did," she added.

"Liam shot Luna," Hope said in amazement. "Yes, he used every bit of strength he had. He saved me. He saved us from Luna," Steffy replied.

Back in the OR, Finn had a lot of trouble stopping Liam's bleeding, but he finally removed the bullet from Liam just as Li removed the bullet from Luna. Hope and Steffy arrived at the observation window and prayed for Liam. Thankfully, the surgery was a success. Finn made eye contact with Steffy, telling her that Liam was okay.

When Finn met up with Steffy, Hope, and Carter, he told them that things were critical, but Liam survived. The tumor was a whole other issue. Hope, Steffy, and Finn visited Liam in recovery, where Finn was honest. "Not even counting the brain tumor, Liam is still very much battling for his life," Finn said.

Hope approached a sedated Liam and told him that she, Steffy, and Finn were there for him. "It's going to be okay. I promise. Remember how you were saying earlier that you were going to fight to be there for our girls, for your daughters. So, I am going to hold you to that," Hope said.

In Luna's OR, Bridget and Li were relieved she was still alive, but Li was disturbed when she heard the police were outside, ready to arrest Luna for kidnapping and attempted murder. "We may have given her a second chance at life, but nobody can stop her from a lifetime in prison," Bridget said. "One step at a time," Li declared. Bridget agreed there could be complications.

"Yes, we'll be keeping a close eye on her," Li ominously said. Bridget left Li alone with Luna. Li sighed that Luna didn't deserve any of this.

Steffy, Hope, and Finn left Liam's room and found Poppy. Steffy laid into her and told her what Luna had done. Li appeared to tell Li that Luna had flatlined, but they fixed the wound before removing her to recovery. That's when Li broke down and told her they did everything they could, but Luna had died in recovery.
