The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, July 16, 2025: Liam has a secret operation, Poppy has regrets

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

In Finn’s office, Bridget and Finn discussed Liam and how astounded they were at what a man he was. Finn shared how upsetting it has been for Steffy, dealing with Liam’s prognosis. Bridget noted how brave Liam was taking the bullet for her.

Poppy interrupted and confessed that she was harboring a lot of guilt about keeping Finn and Luna apart all those years. Bridget left Poppy and Finn to talk. Poppy told Finn that she couldn’t forget the awful things that Luna had done and didn’t know how anyone could forgive her. Finn agreed that Luna was disturbed; Poppy cried that she was their flesh and blood. She thought that Finn must be feeling the loss and finality like she was. Finn said he wanted to check on Liam instead. Finn left when a nurse came in and asked Finn to see a patient.

At Forrester, Steffy, Hope, and Carter talked about how Liam saved Steffy’s life. Brooke walked in and agreed that Liam was a true hero. They talked about Liam’s prognosis and how Hope and Steffy had been so supportive. Brooke thought it would have been nice if others knew as well, so they, too, could’ve been supportive, but Hope explained it was how Liam wanted it.

Steffy recounted how Liam shot Luna; Carter wondered what impact that had on Liam to shoot someone. Then they talked about Finn and how he must have mixed emotions about Luna’s death. Steffy shared how Luna kept showing up at the house and how obsessed she had become with Finn.

Brooke wondered when Liam would come home. Steffy noted that Bill would probably take Liam to his place when he was released. Hope was just grateful that they had more time with Liam before he died and that Luna didn’t take him from them early.

Back at the hospital, Bridget was surprised to see Liam’s bed empty when she went to his room. April, the lab tech, came in and told Bridget that Liam had been released to the care of Bill, as authorized by Grace. Finn walked by, and Bridget anxiously told him that Liam was gone. Finn said that he was in no condition to leave, and was confused why Grace would release him. Bridget thought that Bill would have the best care for his son, but Finn wondered if Liam even wanted to go. Bridget surmised that Bill would move heaven and earth for his son.

Meanwhile, in another clinic, Liam weighed the option of the treatment with Bill. His dad suggested just trying it and, if it worked, then they could tell everyone the good news. Grace interrupted to add that she knew Liam probably felt unnerved about the secrecy of it all, but she believed in her colleague.

Grace’s friend, a doctor, came in and introduced himself. As Liam was prepped for surgery, Grace pulled Bill aside and asked for a wire transfer payment. Bill said he didn’t care what it cost; he just wanted his son to survive. Bill told Liam he loved him and then left the operating room.

In the hall, Bill called his assistant, Colby, and told them to follow the wire instructions he had sent. After he hung up, Bill muttered to himself that the doctor better know what he’s doing. In the operating room, Grace assured Liam that he was in good hands, and he was put under as she and her friend began the procedure.

Bill was pacing in a waiting room when he got a message from Colby that the wire transfer was complete. Then he cried as he prayed for Liam to survive. “Please don’t take my son from me. Let him live. Take me instead,” Bill sobbed.

Grace came in and told Bill that the operation was over, and Liam was in recovery. Bill insisted on seeing him immediately. When they came into the room, Liam was unconscious, and Grace said he would be for a while, but they would monitor him. “Liam pulled through, the tumor was removed,” Grace gushed. She said it was a medical miracle. Bill was astounded that Liam might live after all.
