The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, June 30: Ridge breaks Brooke's heart with devastating news

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

In Eric's living room, Ridge and Taylor remained blissful as they celebrated their engagement and remembered Ridge's proposal in St. Thomas all those years ago. However, they both worried about how Brooke would take the news. Ridge assured Taylor that he'd never given Brooke any reason to believe they might reunite.

Just then, Eric walked in and was surprised to see Ridge wasn't at the office. Taylor wasted no time showing off her ring and telling Eric that she and Ridge were engaged. Eric didn't quite know what to say and stumbled over his words before finally saying, "Congratulations."

Eric warned them that the news would spread fast. Taylor already knew that and said she couldn't wait to tell Steffy. Eric and Ridge both agreed that Ridge needed to tell Brooke before she heard it from someone else. When Ridge left for the office, Eric sat with Taylor.

"I remember when Ridge first gave you that ring years ago," Eric said. "Ridge and Brooke aren't the only ones with history," Taylor pointed out.

While alone in Eric's office, tears streamed down Brooke's face. She still couldn't believe that Taylor had the guts to propose, and Ridge actually said yes. Brooke flashed back to the moment on the runway when she appeared in her Portofino wedding gown. "How could you accept her proposal?" she wept.

Brooke sat in Eric's chair, devastated while staring into space, when Ridge arrived. "I already know," was all she could say. Ridge asked how Brooke knew, so she told him she heard it from Nick. "He was having lunch while you and Taylor were sitting there having your special romantic moment," Brooke said.

"It should have come from me," Ridge said. "You think that would have caused me less pain? You think that would have been better, telling me face to face that you're committed to Taylor and not to me?" Brooke asked.

Brooke insisted that if Taylor hadn't asked, then she and Ridge wouldn't be engaged. "Just tell me there's a way to undo it," Brooke begged. Ridge said he was there because he wanted to tell her, because he knew it would hurt her hearing it from someone else.

"Well, then fix it. End this engagement," Brooke pleaded. "It's not done. You still love me, Ridge. I can see it in your eyes. And I know Taylor can see it, too."

"Of course, I love you. I'm always going to love you, but I'm moving on with my life...My future is not here. Goodbye," Ridge told a devastated Brooke.

Luna continued waving her gun around while getting in Will's frightened face. "You lied to me, Will. You set me up. This is a trap," Luna cried. Will warned Luna to put the gun down because he police were on their way, but she kept going on about how Will trapped her with all that talk about Steffy.

"You know, I was willing to give you everything that Electra wasn't giving you. I thought we'd be great together, Will," Luna said. Will just kept repeating that Luna belonged in jail. She argued that she was pardoned. "I really liked you. I really thought that we could have something real together, but you're just like everybody else. But you know what, you're all going to be sorry cause I'm done getting messed with," Luna added before ordering Will to leave.

Will did just that and ran from the apartment while Luna stood there holding the gun. "Steffy's gonna pay for ruining my life," Luna said to herself once she was alone.

In Steffy's living room, Electra was hysterical, telling Chief Baker that he had to save Will. Baker insisted that backup was on their way. Electra was relieved when Will finally arrived back at the cliff house safe and sound. "I have no idea why she let me go," Will said.

Baker relayed that Luna wasn't there when the cops showed up, so they had no idea where Luna was. "We need to find her before she does something crazy," Finn said.

Later, Taylor stopped by and got the whole sordid tale about what happened with Luna. Taylor was horrified and wanted Steffy to stay at Eric's place until Luna was caught. Suddenly, Steffy noticed the rock on her mother's finger. "Mom, is this what I think it is?" Steffy asked. Taylor told her that she and Ridge were engaged, which took Steffy's mind off of Luna immediately.

Will and Electra finally left Steffy's house and ended up at the design office."I still can't believe you put yourself in so much danger," Electra said. Will asked if she had watched everything. Electra said she had, including the kissing. Will apologized, but Electra understood. "You had to sell her on the lie to try and trap her," she said. "She's still out there, Will. Luna is a threat to everybody, including Steffy," Electra cried as Will took her in his arms.

As for Luna, she showed up at Sheila's place. "I messed up. I really messed up, Grandma. Will. He set me up," Luna cried breathlessly. "Damn it, I knew it," Sheila said, when Luna gave her the details.

"He texts you out of nowhere when a few days ago, he didn't want anything to do with you. I should have made you wait. To think smart," Sheila lamented. "He's a Spencer, and they can't be trusted. His dad did something very similar to me."

Luna insisted it had nothing to do with the Spencers. "This is about Steffy. She's the one who wants to see me in jail so I can never see my father again. She got to Will. She poisoned him against me, the same way she did with my dad. Steffy ruins everything," Luna yelled.

Sheila told Luna she was concerned about Luna's obsession with blaming Steffy for everything. "Because it's her fault," Luna insisted. "Steffy wants to see me in prison. She probably asked my dad to set me up first, but he wouldn't do it, so she got Will involved. I know for a fact that he wouldn't have done this to me on his own."

Sheila tried to reason with Luna. "You need to worry about what the police heard," she warned, as Luna claimed she was provoked and the whole thing was an ambush. "That's entrapment. If Steffy wants to treat me like some big, huge threat, well, she has no idea what a threat I can actually be."
