The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, May 21, 2025: Liam and Steffy are at odds over Liam's last days

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

Liam, Steffy, and Finn nervously sat in Finn's office waiting for Grace. When she arrived, Liam quickly asked, "Did you find a way to save me?" Grace apologized for giving them the wrong impression, but Liam's prognosis remained the same. Grace explained that there might be a way to slow the tumor down, but it could have an impact on Liam's quality of life.

Grace explained that Liam was an excellent candidate for radiation and chemo that could give him more time, but he was still terminal. However, the treatment might not work, and the side effects could be awful. Liam thought he had an impossible choice to make. "How am I supposed to make a decision based on this?" he asked.

Steffy encouraged Liam to undergo the treatment because it would give him time. "But how is that time going to be spent? Is it really going to be with my family and loved ones, or am I just going to be in and out of the hospital getting treatments that make me sick?" Liam asked.

Grace advised Liam to think things over before making a decision. "You gotta fight. You gotta fight for them, for Kelly and Beth," Steffy insisted. Liam had to be frank with Steffy. "All I can think of right now is my mom and how she suffered. I mean, the cancer treatments, lying in that bed, she was a shell of what she was. That woman at the end was not my mom. Do I want that for Kelly and Beth? Do you want that?" Liam asked.

Steffy was hopeful that Liam could have a different experience and begged him to get the treatment.

Hope reassured a confused Carter that he was the one she wanted to spend her future with. "Not Liam?" he asked, perplexed. Hope tried to get Carter to believe that he misinterpreted what he heard through Brooke's front door.

Hope began to weep as she admitted she had told Liam that she wanted to spend every moment with him. "But it's not what you think because Liam doesn't know how much time he has left," Hope told a shocked Carter. "My heart is breaking because I feel so helpless. That is what you heard me saying."

Carter took a sobbing Hope into his arms. Hope admitted she was still in shock and explained what was wrong with Liam. Carter promised to be there for Hope. "This has all really changed my perspective, and I don't want to waste any more time when it comes to the people I love...Can we please just put what happened with the company and that kiss with Daphne behind us?"

Carter told Hope he could. "You can count on me. I will be your rock. Don't doubt my love for you," he said.

Daphne sat in the Forrester Creations design office thinking about Carter and remembering telling him that he wasn't meant to be with Hope. Zende, Electra, and Will walked in and interrupted her thoughts. They wanted Daphne to create a jewelry-adjacent fragrance.

Daphne didn't say a word, so Will took a wild guess at what was wrong. "So, I guess you heard the big news about my cousin being back here?" he surmised. It turned out Daphne did not know, but she still remained relatively quiet. "I'm sure that you two can find a way to work together peacefully," Zende said.

"Forrester is better off without Hope, especially Carter," Daphne repeated. She wondered why on Earth Steffy would agree to Hope returning to the company. Will and Zende pointed out that Hope had been missed. "Most of all by Carter," Electra said, not realizing she put her foot in her mouth.

In Eric's office, Ridge and Brooke continued marveling at the fact that Steffy and Hope were getting along and Steffy rehired Hope. "Think about it. If our daughters can make their relationship work, then certainly you and I can do the same," Brooke said.

Ridge was still sure something must have happened to promote the newfound truce between Hope and Steffy. Ridge liked the idea of the truce, but it just confused him. "I'm focusing on family. You. Me. Together," Brooke said in a sweet whisper just before Katie appeared.

Brooke assured Katie that she wasn't interrupting. "I was just informing Ridge that we are each other's destiny," Brooke said, as she grabbed Ridge's arm. With Katie lurking in the corner, Brooke looked into Ridge's eyes and told him that she'd never forget how he looked at her on the runway a few weeks ago. "The whole world saw the love that we had for each other," Brooke said.

After Brooke left, Katie picked up where her sister left off, telling Ridge that the whole world saw how much Ridge and Brooke belonged together.

Brooke returned to the fashion show dressing room, where she remembered the moment Ridge saw her in that Portofino wedding gown.
