The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, May 27: Ridge wants answers, Hope gives hers

Here’s what happened on The Bold and the Beautiful on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 when Hope gave Carter her answer, Finn advised Liam, and Ridge was utterly confused.

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

At the cliff house, Liam and Kelly played Go Fish. Kelly told Liam how much she loved her dad and said she never wanted him to leave. Liam started to choke up but told Kelly that he was always so happy with her and never wanted to leave either. Finn came in and overheard; he and Liam exchanged knowing glances.

Finn sat with Liam and Kelly and tried to drop hints that Liam won’t always be there. He compared it to when Kelly grows up and moves out. Liam assured Kelly that he would miss her when she wasn’t around, but said she would never really be alone because he would always be there watching her. Liam and Kelly hugged while Liam looked sad when she couldn’t see him.

After Kelly went to bed, Finn read a message from Grace wondering if Liam had decided about treatment. When Liam came into the living room, he told Liam that he respected Liam’s decision even if he disagreed with it. Liam said if his kids hadn’t noticed already that he was sick, they soon would. He didn’t know how to tell them he was dying or how to say goodbye.

Finn knew Liam would be as caring as possible with his kids and offered Steffy’s assistance to tell them. Liam agreed he didn’t know what he’d do without Steffy’s support, and thanked Finn for being such a good friend as well. He said that knowing that Finn would be around when he was gone was a relief. Finn shared that Dr. Buckingham asked about his decision to get treatment. Liam said he hadn’t, and he was trying to get Hope back together with Carter.

At Forrester, Steffy and Taylor were talking in the CEO’s office about Liam when Ridge walked in. He assumed they were talking about Hope and her return to the company. Steffy had just told Taylor that she hated keeping the secret about Liam from her dad, but they continued to try to cover up what they were talking about.

Ridge wanted to know why Steffy took a hard line but then gave Hope a free pass. Steffy could only tell her dad that her priorities had shifted. Ridge agreed that Hope and Steffy’s explanations matched, but still believed they weren’t telling the whole story. Ridge wanted to know what their new priorities were.

Steffy told Ridge that she was working towards getting along with Hope. Ridge wondered what to do about Hope for the Future. Steffy didn’t know what to do, but noted she couldn’t make that decision on her own. Ridge quipped he thought she’d just go rogue again. Steffy agreed she had rehired Hope without consulting them, but anything further was a decision for her, Eric, and Ridge to make together.

Taylor noted that Carter must be happy about Hope’s return to the company. Ridge asked if Hope mentioned reuniting with Carter. “You think she’d confide in me?” Steffy asked. “She’s your new BFF, I thought maybe she would,” Ridge teased. Steffy said that was a ways off, if ever but she she did have mixed feelings about Carter and Hope 2.0 given the coup last time they were together. She added that she did want Hope to be happy, confusing Ridge even more.

At Carter’s loft, Hope was stunned at Carter’s proposal. He repeated how she was the love of his life and asked her to accept. Hope stammered that she thought they had the type of relationship that nothing and no one could come between. Carter asked Hope to trust him.

Hope agreed that she was turning the page to a new future with Carter, but wanted to be cautious. She said she believed his apology, but a marriage proposal was a big step. “And it’s one you’re not prepared to take?” Carter wondered, confused.

Carter told Hope that if he had his way, he would marry them immediately. He said he hated that he’d given her a reason to question his commitment. “I told you I would protect your heart, and I ended up breaking it,” Carter said. He swore he wouldn’t be proposing if he didn’t think he could be the husband she deserved. “Let me be there for you for the rest of our lives,” Carter added.

Carter swore to always love Hope and said she only needed to say yes to his proposal to make it happen. Carter listed off Hope’s contributions to his life, and said he wanted that to continue into their marriage. He promised to be the best stepfather he could be, and suggested they could have a child of their own as well. When Carter held up the ring again, he told Hope he believed in them more than ever because what they went through should have destroyed them but it didn’t. He asked Hope again to marry him, and this time, she said yes. “Yes, Carter Walton, I will be your wife,” Hope said, crying and laughing as they kissed and he slipped the ring on her finger.
