In the CEO’s office, Thomas showed Ridge his phone. On it was an article with a photo showing Ridge holding and kissing Brooke in Italy with the headline, “Ridge Forrester rescues Brooke Logan.” Ridge explained that Brooke almost died, and he had to save Brooke’s life. “Did you have to kiss her?” Thomas snapped.

Thomas asked Ridge if he was sincere when he committed to Taylor, saying he needed Ridge to follow through more than he knew. Thomas firmly told Ridge that he could not hurt Taylor again and that he would not allow Brooke to seduce her way back into his life. Thomas announced to Ridge that it was one of the big reasons he was back. “I’m going to watch you. I’m going to make sure she doesn’t wiggle her way back in. Dad, tell me you’re not going to go back to her. Tell me you’re not going to hurt Mom,” Thomas pleaded.

Thomas confided that he and Paris had broken off their engagement. He said it was embarrassing, and he hadn’t told Taylor. Thomas said he heard about how their family allowed Liam to think he was dying, and that was the cause of the breakup. “I don’t know what my life is right now. I have no relationship, I have no career,” Thomas said. He said he wasn’t tied to a line, and he needed his family to be together. “Don’t screw around Mom. And don’t screw around me and Steffy. I couldn’t handle it,” Thomas told his dad.

“You couldn’t handle it?” Ridge asked. “Honestly, no,” Thomas told him. He said he missed him and his family, and that’s why his parents getting back together meant so much to him. Thomas said he felt alone. He told Ridge how he mended Taylor’s heart, and asked him not to throw it on the ground and stomp on it. Ridge said that Thomas seemed sad and desperate, and it reminded him of how he was before. “Are you okay? You’re not backsliding?” Ridge reiterated. “I’m feeling lost, and this is why it’s so important to me. It’s the only thing I’ve got going for me right now. Dad, I need my family,” Thomas added tearfully. Ridge hugged his son.

Across the hall, Katie and Brooke reviewed the numbers from the trip to Italy and said the show was successful. Brooke noted that Ridge was more focused on the fact that he almost lost her, rather than the numbers. Brooke said if it bothered him that much, why didn’t he tell Taylor how he felt. “I just can’t believe he’s still with her,” Brooke lamented.

Katie understood Brooke’s frustration and didn’t think that Ridge was doing Taylor any favors by stringing her along. Brooke empathized with how complicated things were for Ridge now that Thomas had returned to town.

Katie ranted that Ridge didn’t need to feel guilty about putting his family back together or pleasing his grown children. They rehashed how romantic it was when Ridge “breathed life back” into Brooke when she nearly drowned. Brooke worried that Thomas was trying to talk Ridge out of reuniting with her.

Brooke pointed out reasons that Ridge could stay with Taylor, including her Broken Heart Syndrome. Katie mocked that and gave her list of reasons he belonged with Brooke. Katie said that Ridge needed to do the honorable thing and leave Taylor that day. “I mean it, Brooke. If Ridge can admit to you that he made a mistake, then he damn well can admit it to Taylor. And he will!” Katie said adamantly.

Brooke had flashbacks to Italy as she told herself that Ridge would come through for her. “He has to,” she added, “Our love story wil not end.”

At the hospital, Taylor called out to Li when she saw her walk by. Taylor said she probably needed to take a leave of absence because of Luna. Taylor sympathized that it must have been traumatic trying to save her granddaughter and all that they had gone through. She offered to be there for Li if she wanted to talk.

Li and Taylor sat down to chat and talked about Hayes and Kelly and how they couldn’t wait to see them again. Li warned that the teenage years would be coming soon enough and that she could dish out tough love. Li noticed Taylor’s ring, and she happily told her that she and Ridge were engaged.

Taylor added that Thomas was back in town, and Li snickered that they had just been talking about tough love. “Excuse me?” Taylor asked, taken aback. Li apologized but noted that they had gone through a rough time with Thomas’s bad behavior.

Taylor admitted that Thomas had some issues, but he was much better now. She said that she would hate him to have a setbac,k but she would be there if he did. Li hoped nothing would happen to cause him to have a setback again.

At Li’s, Luna looked at the pregnancy test she held in her hand. It was negative, causing Luna to do a heavy sigh. Sheila came in and asked what was going on. Luna didn’t tell Sheila, so they recapped everything about the party, how everyone thought she was dead, and how Luna believed she could have a future with Will instead.

Sheila reminded Luna that Will thought she was dead and there wasn’t a chance for them to be together. Luna noted that Sheila survived a bear attack, but Sheila said that it was faked. Luna had a lightbulb go off that she could fake a pregnancy. Sheila worried she was setting herself up for disappointment. Luna assured her that she was grateful Li had hired an attorney, but emphasized that she would not leave her future in anyone else’s hands but her own.

Sheila could empathize as someone who spent time behind bars. Luna said that they were the type of people who, when backed into a corner, could make anything happen. Sheila assured Luna she was on her side, but had to get back to the restaurant.
