The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, September 4, 2025: Eric gets into Ridge's head

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

In the design office, Eric told Brooke that he and Donna were staying in one of the guest houses, just like everyone else, while they were having work done on the main house. Eric noted that he was concerned about Brooke after everything happened with her and Ridge, and was surprised they weren’t reunited.

Brooke agreed it had been difficult, lamented that Taylor had every intention of getting Ridge to the altar. Brooke smiled as Eric left, as he offered to get through to Ridge before it was too late.

Across the hall, Ridge told Taylor that Thomas ended his engagement to Paris. He asked if Thomas seemed okay to Taylor, and she thought he was, but added that it makes sense how much their wedding means to him as a distraction right now.

Taylor told Ridge that she was planning a special dinner for the two of them that evening so that they could pick a wedding date. She thought that Thomas being home was a good time to reunite the family. Taylor added that Thomas needed a reason to celebrate.

Eric interrupted Taylor and Ridge, questioning their engagement status as he came in. Taylor said they were setting a date that evening and hoping that Eric could be supportive. He responded with a look of despair. Eric watched as Taylor kissed Ridge goodbye, and as soon as she was out the door, he closed it firmly and admonished his son loudly. “You have to do something!” Eric barked, even though Ridge told him not to say it.

Eric didn’t stop. He told Ridge that he had to quit denying to himself that Taylor wasn’t the woman he really wanted. He said to let everyone get on with their lives and to “end this thing” tonight.

Ridge interrupted the topic by telling Eric that Thomas was in town and he was concerned. Eric dismissed it, saying he only wanted to talk about getting Ridge and Brooke back together. He told Ridge that he could still be considered a good person and also be with Brooke.

Eric pointed out that Ridge had a family with Brooke as well, and someone would be hurt no matter what, but that Brooke was the love of his life. Ridge said he was tired and didn’t want to do this again. Eric told him he needed to make a decision and make the right choice. He reminded Ridge how it felt when he thought she was going to die in Italy. “You don’t want to lose her!” Eric implored. He told Ridge to admit that Brooke was the one he loved.

Eric apologized for pushing, but was worried that Ridge was going to make the wrong choice and what it would do to him if he did. He told him he had to choose Brooke, hugged him, then left the office. Ridge paced, then had flashbacks to being with Taylor.

At a Forrester guest house, Thomas reflected on his conversation with Ridge, telling him how important it was that he didn’t let them down. He talked to himself about how confident he was that Ridge wouldn’t hurt them.

Taylor came in and they talked about the engagement. Thomas perked up and was happy when Taylor told him that they were going to pick a date later that evening.

Taylor asked about Paris, but he didn’t really want to talk about it. He was more focused on the good going on in Taylor’s life. Thomas shared that he’d talked to Ridge about following through with his commitment to Taylor. He said he couldn’t wait to be there for their wedding day.

In the design office, Katie told Brooke that it was nice that Eric was on her side. Katie diminished Ridge’s relationship with Taylor, saying she thought Ridge probably cared for Taylor, but didn’t think he should deprive himself of the love he could have with Brooke.

Katie and Brooke noted that Thomas needed to back off and not worry about what his parents were or weren’t doing. Katie wasn’t over all the things Thomas had done to Hope in the past, and hoped that therapy was helping. She thought that Thomas blamed Brooke unfairly for Ridge’s relationship with Taylor. Katie wondered if Thomas could snap, and Brooke didn’t know what to expect.

Brooke said she wasn’t going to focus on Thomas. “Good, get him out of your head. He’s been home what, five minutes, and already making problems for you?” Katie mocked. Brooke said she’d like to have a good relationship with Ridge’s son as long as he wasn’t dictating Ridge’s life and shaming him into marrying Taylor. Katie thought that Thomas could lay on the guilt trip all he wanted, but the love of Ridge’s life was Brooke.

Taylor had the guest house ready with candles and wine and was having flashbacks to romantic moments as Ridge came through the door. She told him that she was excited about the evening and that soon he would be her husband. As they embraced, Eric’s words haunted Ridge.
