The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, September 5, 2025: Ridge can't commit

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

At the guest house, Ridge told Taylor he liked what she did with the place. She told him she wanted to make it as special as their evening was going to be. They talked about Thomas and Paris, then made innuendos about getting married amongst distractions. Taylor brought up losing Phoebe and how she never wants to miss out on any moments together.

Ridge continued to struggle between discussing getting married and having Eric’s words haunt him. Taylor rambled about all of their milestone moments together and how Stephanie was their most fiercest supporter. Taylor said she wanted nothing more than to give Ridge her heart. “What are we doing? Why are we waiting?” Taylor asked. She suggested they could get married the next day if they wanted to.

Taylor asked Ridge to say yes, but then got distracted by a song. They began dancing instead as Taylor told him how good it was to be in his arms. Ridge danced but again thought of Eric, and how they almost lost Brooke in Italy. He pulled away after remembering how he promised Brooke to make it right.

“I love you so much,” Ridge told Taylor. He said that he loved their family and history, and admired her strength and resilience. Ridge said that he never meant to hurt her, and he couldn’t stand the thought of breaking her heart again. “I can’t do this. I can’t pick a date. I can’t marry you,” Ridge told a stunned Taylor.

In the CEO’s office, Thomas visited with Eric and gushed about his parents’ marriage. “I’m not going to let anyone derail that,” Thomas enthused. Eric told him it wasn’t his responsibility. Thomas shared that he and Paris broke up and that he had been thinking a lot of about family and how much he needed his.

Eric told Thomas that his mom was an accomplished woman who didn’t need to be with Ridge to be complete. Thomas noted how Taylor thought she was dying when she came to town, and Eric agreed she’d stood by Ridge during the coup. Thomas carried on about how happy he was about their reunion and noted that only one person stood in the way. Eric said that Ridge had a lot to consider. Thomas thought he had already moved on and told Eric that although he knew his grandad was a supporter of Brooke, he must want more for his dad. He asked Eric to be supportive of their marriage.

In the design office, Brooke lamented to Katie that she had messaged Ridge and he hadn’t called her back. Katie and Brooke continued talking about Thomas showing up in time for his parents' wedding planning, and didn’t think it was a coincidence.

Katie and Brooke rattled off a list of adjectives to describe Thomas, like unstable and needy. Brooke noted he was Ridge’s son, so she wanted his approval. Katie was sure Thomas would try pressuring Ridge, but Brooke was sure what happened in Italy overrode everything. She just needed to believe in him, she added.

Thomas interrupted and said hello. They told him that Ridge wasn’t there if he was looking for him. Thomas laughed that he knew where Ridge was — he was at home choosing a wedding date with his mom. Thomas warned Brooke not to come between Ridge and Taylor ever again.
