The past few months on The Bold and the Beautiful have been frustrating, to say the least. Most of us are shaking our heads, wondering why on earth Li (Naomi Matsuda) bothered to save Luna (Lisa Yamada) from going to prison. How could she bring her back to her home and secretly nurse her back to health, after all the crimes Luna committed?
Luna is a danger to everyone in Los Angeles. She drugged and killed Tom (Clint Howard) and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers), framed her own mother Poppy (Romy Park) for the murders, obtained a fake paternity test to make it look like Bill (Don Diamont) was her father, and she drugged and caged Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and shot Liam (Scott Clifton). And those are only the crimes she committed before Li faked Luna's death and took care of her. Luna belongs in prison, and many fans believe Li does also, for faking Luna's death and harboring a known murderer.
What happened last week, on The Bold and the Beautiful

Last Friday on The Bold and the Beautiful, Li got a wake-up call when she realized what her misguided actions had set into motion. She visited Luna at Bill's (Don Diamont) mansion and saw with her own eyes that a pregnant Luna is staying at Bill's until the results of the paternity test come in. Li realizes that the reason Luna is pregnant is because she faked Luna's death and gave her yet another chance (after Bill previously gave Luna a chance by getting her pardoned). Because Li did that, Luna escaped from her apartment, disguised herself, spiked Will's (Crew Morrow) drink with 180-proof alcohol, masqueraded as Will's girlfriend, Electra (Laneya Grace), and sexually assaulted him. It's a wonder he didn't end up in the hospital with a case of alcohol poisoning.
We know Li had good intentions. She wanted to be a decent role model for Luna and turn her into an upstanding citizen. But how did she think she could pull that off, after all the horrible things Luna did? Li used to be sensible. She knew Luna was beyond saving. She needed to be locked away in prison.
It made sense when Li secretly nursed Finn (Tanner Novlan) back to health a couple of years ago, because he's her son and a law-abiding citizen. He's a great doctor and a pillar of his community. But Luna? No way. Not only does she deserve prison time, but Li should spend some time behind bars as well.
Speaking of Finn, why is Li friends with the woman who shot him?

Since Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) discovered that Li was keeping comatose Luna in her home and caring for her, Li and Sheila have developed a friendship (if we can call it that). Has Li forgotten that Sheila once shot Finn and his wife Steffy?
Li used to be one of the many characters on The Bold and the Beautiful who hated Sheila. She used to encourage Finn to keep Steffy and his family safe from her at all costs. But now, Luna's two grandmothers have bonded over Li's poor judgment of keeping Luna's existence a secret. The ridiculousness of this storyline makes our heads spin like a top. We realize it's a soap, but even soaps should have at least some degree of common sense.
Will's life is a mess, all because Li secretly saved Luna

Sure, Li isn't a mind reader, so of course she didn't know Luna planned to rape Will during her fertile period and get pregnant with his child so she could cement a place for herself and her baby in the uber-rich Spencer family. But Li is supposed to be an intelligent woman. She had to realize that by saving Luna from her near-fatal gunshot wound, the psychopath would go right back to committing more crimes. Li was never going to be able to redeem her, so why did she bother trying? For a niece/granddaughter whom she was never close to in the first place?
Li does have some good, bad-ass qualities on The Bold and the Beautiful. She has fire, determination, and isn't afraid to call people out on their horrible behavior. We could definitely root for her if those qualities were used productively and not in a destructive way. But because she saved Luna, Will's life is now in a state of turmoil. He may have a child with a deranged criminal he wants nothing to do with, and his relationship with Electra is going to be severely put to the test.
And because Li saved Luna (putting her medical career and people's lives at risk), it feels like she needs to pay for that, even if it's only a brief stay in prison. Or maybe she needs to have her medical license revoked, at least long enough to make her realize the gravity of her actions.
