On The Bold and the Beautiful, we are getting to see quite a bit of Luna this week as the perennial bad penny is at it again — but despite being an absolute menace in the worst possible ways, Luna does capture our attention.
Evil deeds done well on the Bold and the Beautiful

While it may feel like we are getting an overload of Luna this week, and many fans are asking what’s happening with ‘Bridge,’ Luna (Lisa Yamada) brings an element we didn’t expect. The tired ol’ love triangle isn’t giving us the reactions or interest it used to. Maybe it’s a case of ‘be careful what you wish for,’ but what we’re getting now is the plot twist we never saw coming.
One could argue the signs were there, but this is unpredictable Luna we’re talking about. Recall when Luna was first released from prison and into Bill Spencer's (Don Diamont) care at his mansion, Luna was often seen at the mantle staring at photos of Will (Crew Morrow). She would gaze longingly at the image and imagine herself snaring the guy for herself and away from Electra.

Distractions notwithstanding, there was the pesky business of finding out that her birth father was Finn and that Sheila was her grandmother. Then, of course, there was the fact that Steffy said hell no to her being a part of Finn's or his family's life. A tense moment that ended in Luna, Liam, and Sheila getting shot when her plan to take out Steffy didn’t quite pan out. Liam shot Luna with her gun in his last-ditch effort to save Steffy and save the day. Luna was taken to the hospital, but was secreted out by Dr. Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda), who had faked her niece-slash-granddaughter’s death. You can’t tell me that you’ve just read that and you’re not the slightest bit interested and had your curiosities piqued? See? Luna brings an unknown element of intrigue that Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) doing the usual will-they-or-won’t-they just doesn’t have, to get us as engaged.
Luna makes her next move

Luna is not only alive and well, but she has not forgotten about Will Spencer and wants to cement her place in his life. Now, while her next moves are going to be condemned for a long time to come, she has proven that she is a villain in the worst sense of the word. Granted her disguise wouldn’t fool any of our armchair sleuths at home, but it was more than enough to fool the ‘180 proof’ addled head of young Will and have him awaken to Luna in his room and not Electra. Masquerade mask removed, he still didn’t know the difference between his girlfriend and evil personified when it slid into his bed. Will Luna now be pregnant? Luna will likely say that Will knew who she was, and it was all consensual. Maybe she will blame Electra for leaving the party early and saying that she basically pushed Will into her arms.

Whatever comes next, as despicable as it may be, we are here for it, because deep down, we can’t take our eyes off the screen. While we despise what she does, we do enjoy watching Luna — and like her or not, love to hate her or not, this character feeds us our dose of escapism, and seeing the good guys go up against the villains is what we love.
Stay tuned, soap fans, Luna is going to be giving us many more moments of yelling and cursing at our TV screens to come, so why not make some popcorn and find something to enjoy in our favorite soap?
