Brief Character History

Bill Hamilton is a criminal defense attorney who married 19-year-old model Dani Dupree soon after meeting her at a party. With the help of Dani and her wealthy family, Bill was able to open his own law firm and developed a reputation for being ruthless. Despite having two daughters with Dani, Naomi and Chelsea, Bill frequently cheated on Dani until he finally left her for paralegal Hayley Lawson, the best friend of Naomi, whom Dani had convinced Bill to hire.

While being shunned by the Duprees didn't bother Bill, the rejection of his daughter Naomi was a tougher pill for him to swallow. Knowing that Hayley had grown up poor and neglected, Bill arranged for their wedding to be at the country club at Fairmont Crest, an affluent gated community where Bill had lived with Dani; Bill buying a house for Hayley at Fairmont earned him a slap in the face from Dani. Bill listened as Dani asked him to cancel his wedding and come home to her, but Bill gently telling his ex that the move smacked of desperation only enraged Dani more. Reminding Dupree patriarch Vernon Dupree that he had done his share of favors for the dynasty, Bill convinced them to attend the ceremony so pariah Hayley wouldn't say “I do” to empty chairs. But Bill received a shock when Dani brandished a gun during the nuptials and pulled the trigger.
