Days of our Lives Daily Recap YAPP, May 12: Xander and Chanel were married?!?!? Oh, that's right!

Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on Days of our Lives

Sometimes stories are so weird, unusual, and quick that they're easily forgotten about, like what happened when Chanel Dupree first arrived in Salem four years ago. At the time, she was played by actress Precious Way, who brought Chanel to life for only a few brief months until Raven Bowens took over and made the role her own. Chanel was the spoiled daughter of Lani's rich aunt, Paulina Price, founder and owner of Price Town, a chain of big-box stores similar to Costco. There was no hint at all that she was an educated young woman with a talent for baking and would one day be the young town heroine and bakery owner. On May 12, when Chanel worried Sweet Bits would get a bad rep after serving Sarah scones that sent her into anaphylactic shock, Paulina reminded Chanel that she was once married to Xander, so he still has a sweet spot for her. We quickly had to run through our soap opera memory bank and remember that yes, Chanel and Xander were indeed married. After Sarah dumped Xander in 2021 when she learned he switched her dead baby with a baby who turned out to be Rachel Black, Chanel met a distraught Xander in the park and listened to his sad tale. She promised to make him forget all about Sarah and did just that for one night. During that night, the pair got drunk and even got married. However, the marriage didn't last long after Paulina gave Xander a hefty check to annul the union and never think about it again. And nobody did. Until today's little Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. history lesson.
