Days of our Lives Daily YAPP Recap, August 1: We have questions about the elevator angst

Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on Days of our Lives

Chad and Cat got stuck in an elevator, making for the perfect soap trope meant to bring two people together who can't admit their feelings for one another. The problem was, nobody seemed to care. Sarah and Xander both made big deals about the elevator being stuck because that meant they had to take the stairs. EJ didn't even think it was important enough to fix a hospital elevator till the morning Sarah, despite telling him that it's a hospital and people in wheelchairs use the elevator all the time. The idea that people could be trapped in this stuck elevator seemed to be a foreign concept to the people who just thought of the situation as nothing more than an inconvenience. Also, is the elevator and the elevator shaft soundproof? Chad and Cat were in the elevator for about five seconds before it stopped, meaning they can't be too far from the floor where they got on. With a panicked Chad screaming so loud, how did nobody hear him? While Chad and Cat were adorable and entertaining as always, as they told wild stories from their teenage years and split a bottle of water and a mint, we couldn't help but wonder why a stuck elevator caused very little concern for the Salemites not in their predicament. At least they didn't end up like poor Bonnie — yet.
