Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

It's been less than two years since Gwen Rizczeck left Salem for the high life in Europe, but Days of our Lives seems to think it has been much longer because it's spent the last few days giving us a refresher course on her life. On Tuesday, we got to learn all about her beef with Leo, that they grew up together, and why they had a nasty falling out right before she skipped town in 2023. On Wednesday was a primer about her life with Xander, how it began, and how it ended in heartbreak for Gwen more than it did for Xander. On Thursday, we got a reminder of where Gwen really came from when JJ paid his sister a visit and oddly called her "Sis" when they had barely even met. They may have had a handful of encounters before Abigail died, but that was about it. But the scenes served as a way to remind the audience of Gwen's sob story upbringing. She didn't have the love of her father, so of course, she turned out this way. (Is she channeling The Bold and the Beautiful's Luna?) Yes, she also grew up as an orphan in a group home, but JJ was not having it with her sob story. He told her to get over herself and figure out a way to make amends with their father rather than pitying herself. JJ was right, and at least DAYS fans now have the perfect Gwen primer, whether it was needed or not. (We say not.)
