Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on Days of our Lives

If there is anything the June 16th episode of Days of our Lives did, it was highlight the fact that Adrienne is desperately needed on the Salem scene. When Steve looked up and saw his sister standing before him in his apartment, our first thought was that it was Adrienne before we forgot that Adrienne was dead. We realized it must be Bonnie, as Steve had assumed. Then, it hit us that this woman played by Judi Evans was indeed Adrienne, just in spirit form. This was not the first time we instinctively assumed Adrienne had entered the scene since DAYS senslessly decided to kill the character during the 2019-2020 time jump. We still never learned what was going through TPTB's heads when this decision was made. It wasn't like Evans was leaving the show. Instead, they essentially turned Bonnie into Adrienne, complete with the same wardrobe and even the same husband, making Adrienne's untimely death even more pointless. The flashback later in the episode to one of Adrienne's very first scenes with Steve brought home more than ever the fact that the character is desperately needed. No, Bonnie is not a good replacement for Adrienne because she is not Adrienne. She is Bonnie, and she shouldn't be married to Justin. Bonnie is a character in her own right whom Evans regularly played for years. But Adrienne is the character who fans want, so maybe it's time to bring her home.
