Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on Days of our Lives

This week is going to be something else on Days of our Lives, for old fans and new. This writer began watching the trials and tribulations of Salemites in 1981 as the Salem Strangler story began. Being home from school sick in fifth grade had its perks, and old magazines (as well as storyline novelezations) helped get this new fan caught up on what she had missed the first 16 years of DAYS. But reading about it and seeing still photos through the years was nothing compared to seeing the stories play out before our eyes. Thanks to the magic of film and flashbacks, that's exactly what happened 44 years later. Fans who had just read about Salem and Horton history got to watch highlights of the Bill/Laura/Mickey saga in 2025, and oh, what a treat it was. We never realized that Tom Horton was completely against going along with Laura's plan to conceal Mike's paternity for years. We always thought it was his idea. It was also a nice touch that Julie and Marie were hesitant to tell this part of the story to Tate and Holly, but agreed to tell Jeremy because it was about his father and his heritage. They just knew this story of betrayal and sexual assault did not belong in Tate and Holly's film class documentary. We can't wait to see what other old stories we get to watch play out this very special Salem week.
