Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Days of our Lives already outdid itself last spring during the emotional memorial for John Black, which incorporated both John's and Drake Hogestyn's love for baseball. Today, the soap outdid itself once again at the hospital gala meant to celebrate 60 years of Salem, as well as honor the lives of John and Dr. Tom Horton. For months, we have been hearing about the special endowment that John had left for Salem University Hospital in his will. Now, we finally know what the endowment was for — pancreatic cancer research. It was not lost on longtime DAYS fans when news of Hogestyn's death broke that the beloved actor died from the same cancer that claimed his character's first wife. Hogestyn succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 2024, while Isabella Toscano Black died from the same disease in 1992. Today, DAYS remembered Isabella and her fight against cancer with beautiful words and emotional flashbacks. The character lives on in her son, Brady, and her namesake, Belle. Belle, Marlena, and Brady all stressed the importance of finally finding a cure for pancreatic cancer, and it was clear they were not acting as they remembered their beloved co-star. It was a wonderful way to incorporate real life and reel life while remembering a long-ago character, as well as a real name who touched all of our hearts for decades.
